I really hope they put this movement in a Pelagos 39. My preference would be for them to have a P39 GMT to still have a dive bezel to help differentiate the two similar to how Longines does with the Zulu time and hydroconquest GMT
I wear my santos on with shorts and a t-shirt all the time. People have no problem wearing a dive watch with something other than a wetsuit, I see no reason a dress watch needs to be limited to a suit
I’ve slowed down my purchasing to about 1 watch per year now. I am really determined for my next two to be a ETA powered Pelagos (or possibly a Pelagos 39, I keep going back and forth) and a Doxa Sub 300 Carbon. That’ll get me through 2026 so not sure about a third haha
I find it interesting that they introduced a solid gold BB58 on bracelet for $32k but didn’t make that METAS certified. Either way the BB58 GMT seemed to be the only thing I’m super interested in. I think I’ll wait until they give it the 5 link and possibly the S&G treatment. My biggest letdown was no update for the Pelagos line. I was hoping for a master chronometer Pelagos
I’m hoping for an update to the Pelagos 42 since it hasn’t been touched since 2015. Metas, thin it down a touch, make the clasp titanium, keep it matte with the indexes cut into the rehaut
If I won the lottery I’d probably buy a VC222. Short of winning the lottery I certainly won’t. A lot of other places I’d spend $70k. Right now I am saving for a 2-liner (eta powered) Pelagos that I’m hoping to pick up next year
