What's that one watch?

Having bought in for the powerball tonight and it's almost a billion dollar jackpot and it got me to thinking. Ignoring the obvious, that you could buy any watch you wanted. What is that one watch that would be your first purchase after getting the money? For me it would be one of my two grails, either the Omega Speedmaster or the Rolex Daytona Panda.

Ooof, I think I would pull the trigger on 3 immediately and without thinking any further: black pelagos 39, green dial OP36, and a Santos medium.

·

Patek Phillippe Grand Complications. I will need a chronometer to measure how fast the money flies away.

If I won I would have little need for a watch. I'd be fine with the many I already have.

I do not however, have a private jet.

·

This. And I'm done.

I don't needa private jet, I'd rather spend the money to get re-certified and I can fly my own plane

Lange 1 without a doubt.

If I won the lottery I’d probably buy a VC222. Short of winning the lottery I certainly won’t. A lot of other places I’d spend $70k. Right now I am saving for a 2-liner (eta powered) Pelagos that I’m hoping to pick up next year

Cartier, Breguet...

the JLC Reverso Hybris Mechanica Calibre 185 Quadriptyque

Go big or go home. :)

Those are some amazing choices my friend!!

This will be boring to many, I'm not lusting for anything fancy myself, just something simple and timeless

I honestly think I would go Tudor BB58 blue

·

JLC in precious medal probably.

·

If I got that much money as a windfall; I’m not wasting any on Rolex, Omega or any mid tier brands. I’m going all in on a triple date, moon phase, gold JLC, Patek or similar high horology grail. 🥳

·

Being quite content with my collection right now, I would purchase a microbrand and vastly invest in it to make it the next Sinn combined with the commercial success of Daniel Wellington

·

I would go to a grey market dealer and just go through all of the cases pointing 👉. I want that one and that one and that one and on and on until my arm and hand got tired from pointing. One watch. Hahaha 😂

Grey market because I don't have to wait for a Rolex.

That would be my choice. The Vacheron Constantin Historique American 1921. It is just pure class... 😊

·

Original explorer II from 1971

JLC Master Ultra Thin Moonphase;

Cool enough for me to enjoy, but not familiar enough to the untrained eyes for anyone to notice that I got rich overnight.

Or maybe like 30 pieces of Seikos on my wishlist.

This would be me. I mean you could basically afford anything

It's a difficult choice.. as auto racing fan . My first choice has to be the Rolex Daytona LeMans.. then Carrera Heuer or Omega Aqua Terra small seconds.

Mine would be a VC222

I'd get an AP Offshore Chrono, white Mega Tap dial, Arabic numerals, subdials at 6/9/12, on a metal bracelet... not that I've thought about this before or anything 😂

cota123

Mine would be a VC222

I had the exceptional good fortune to try a new 222 on earlier this year and holy crap it is indescribably good, it's on a whole other level of watchmaking!

·

That’s a whole lot of cheddar. I may just stop buying watches & hire somebody with a Casio F91 to follow me around & tell me the time upon request 😂

·

omega seamaster aquaterra

·

I've pretty much achieved the so-called grails on my list. But the only one that I don't have because I've lost the love in all gold watches/jewellery is the Tony "The Presidential" Soprano Rolex Day Date 18238.

Something crazy, I’d go straight to AP or patek
