Which Blue Pelagos should I get?

For my next watch I really want a blue pelagos to round out my 4 watch core with my Explorer, Speedy, and Santos. The problem is, which blue Pelagos to get? Option 1: the original thick boy Pelagos in blue Pros: I absolutely love the indexes cutting into the rehaut that gets lost on the more recent Pelagos releases. The bracelet and clasp are awesome and I really like the rubber strap integrating with the end links. 500m and a He escape valve are unnecessary, but still a bit cool. Cons: it is a very thick watch. I have tried it on and think I can pull it off, but the thickness would probably reduce its wear time Option 2: FXD Pros: thinner, I love a fully indexed bezel, and a really cool story behind it Cons: fixed spring bars really limit it, and no bracelet option. It would probably live on a Nick Mankey hook strap (the most comfortable straps I have ever experienced) which isn’t a bad thing, but not ideal Option 3: wait for a Pelagos 39 to be released in blue Pros: dimensions are absolutely perfect Cons: I think without the indexes cutting into the rehaut of the original or the fully indexes bezel of the FXD it comes off as a bit bland. If this was my only watch that would probably be a good thing but I already have my speedy and Explorer for more versatile options. This is going to be more of my fun watch Option 4: Something else? Let me know what you would get instead

No bracelet option kills the FXD for me.

There’ll be plenty more options coming out. At some point they’ll release a version that perfectly meets all your desiderata. Until then, why compromise?

I am still hoping Tudor will release a 3rd Gen pelagos soon that is slightly thinner and METAS certified

I own the full fat black pelagos. It is quite thick but due to its light weight titanium I can wear it all day and everyday. I chose it over the blue one only because I thought the black was a tad more versatile.

I voted for the FXD. I have tried one on. It is a killer watch. The fixed lugs are a bonus I believe as long as you love natos off course. I think the FXD is quite unique at the price point.

I see myself eventually owning one. I'm holding out to see if they release a LHD/Destro variant at the moment.

Realistically they won't, but no one really expected them to release the FXD in the first place.

I’ve yet to see an FXD - can’t wait! 🤞🤙

I own the FXD and wasn’t sure at first that I would like it till I saw it in person. I know some are put off by the fixed bars but for me it’s just another unique option. I think it’s one of the coolest watches to come out of Tudor since the launch of the BB bronze in 2016. And being titanium, it’s very light to wear.
