Buying a strap for a watch I don’t own?
I am planning on picking up a Tudor Pelagos FXD next year for my 30th birthday. My favorite watch strap maker Nick Mankey launched his limited edition Dive Series today, and I new the red SCUBA and yellow Coral straps would be an awesome fit for the FXD, so I jumped on it. Am I crazy buying straps for a watch I don’t have? These are limited at 125 piece of each color before they are gone. I don’t even have any other watches with a 22mm lug width to wear these on in the mean time. No regrets though. I’m excited to see how these look in person and to get my FXD next year.

I've done it. Probably a good move if you appreciate the quality and the fact that they are limited. Who knows, if the Tudor doesn't work for you, maybe you get another 22mm lug watch. Worst case, sell it, even if at a loss.
It at all especially if they are going to be limited production. Congrats on your pick up. Worse case scenario you can just use them on another watch in you collection in the mean time or if you end up not picking up the FXD afterall
Done it multiple times with ZuluAlpha, WOE, Zane's Handmade, and Anti-Watch Watch Clubimited releases.

Funny you should mention that. I received a strap (Black Sailcloth, padded) It is a terrific strap..I just dont have any idea what I had in mind when i ordered it..Not sure what watch I was planning it for...LOL This getting old really sucks....Enjoy the hobby everyone!!
I bought straps for my FXD a whole year before I got one and those weren’t even limited edition
If you really want to use it on a watch now, spend US$40+ on a Duro and use the strap. 🤣
We are all crazy. This doesn't strike me as any crazier than a lot of things we do in this hobby. Good reminder to keep your eyes on the prize :)

Doesn’t the fxd have fixed lugs? How are you going to get the strap on there?

I was really tempted by the blue as well. I will probably pick up one of Nick Mankey’s standard straps in blue later. I figured I will where it on a blue strap when I want the strap to be a little more subtle, and these would be my more fun straps

These come with his fixed bar compatible hardware. Essentially one of the hardware on the strap can come off so you can squeeze it between the lugs.
