Almost Permanent Wrist Time

I was thinking about this today and wondered how many of you have multiple watches but seem to wear the same watch so often that the others get practically no wrist time? If so, do you plan on keeping them?

Haha I posted something similar last week. I have 12 watches but primarily wear 3. Still love them all and plan on keeping them.

Ever since I got my GW5000U I find myself changing to it after my wruw shot for the day. 😂 I suppose I keep the rest of my collection for my wruw shots. 🤣

·

I tend to either wear a watch for several days in a row, or I’ll get dithery and switch daily or even (blushes) a few times a day.

What a bizarre hobby!

I have 29 watches. 4 of these watches get about 80% of the wrist time.

A few of the watches are broken (a couple that are not worth repairing to me), but they do have some sentimental value, so they stay.

The ones that do work, don't get a lot of wrist time & don't have significant sentimental value, are inexpensive enough as to be a hassle to try to sell. I'm effectively stuck with them, but I don't feel stuck. If that makes sense.

So they have enough sentimental value to stay, but not get worn.

Add that topic to next week's therapy agenda.

I have three watches: a Casio, a Seiko and a Suunto. I wear the Suunto when hiking. I don't really wear the Casio. The Seiko has not been off my wrist more than a few hours in the last 4 months. So yeah, I have 3 watches, but wear only one.

·

I have 9 and they all get worn, but 5 get about 80% of the wrist time. Not looking to sell any of them since I still like them and do wear them.

·

I have 400. I have several favorites for sure, but I do routinely rotate through many in my collection.

And so far I have not contemplated selling any. Although I have gifted a few to family and friends.

·

I only have 7 watches but wear the same two 90% of the time. The other five all share the remaining 10%

It's largely seasonal for me. I don't do a huge amount of strap changing (though I tend to play about a fair bit before finding the 'right' strap for each watch) so I have a range of watches on a mix of bracelets, leather, NATO and sailcloth. Through winter I wear most of the collection (13 currently) a little bit. Come summer it will be mostly bracelets and a little of the NATO and sailcloth. Some of my favourite watches only work for me on leather so they tend to get boxed for most of the summer/warmer months and then I get to fall in love with them all over again on the colder months. Yes: we're a weird bunch, no doubt about it.

·

I have 10 mechanical and about 20 G-shocks/other quartz watches. All of the mechanical watches get rotated pretty regularly and about 75% of the quartz/digitals do as well.

·

Yeah I plan on keeping them, even if I wear my Hamilton %92 of the time, I had many regrets selling watches, never again

·

I have 14, my Longines gets the most wrist time, but it’s still new. The rest get time, I like them all.

·

I had a bunch and then went down to three that I really love and they all get worn. I think we all just have a number that's the "right size" of rotation, and anything after that is hoarding 🤣

·

I'm not in that camp. I rotate among 10 core watches and wouldn't have it any other way.

·

I rarely wear a watch two days in a row unless it’s something new or I’m breaking in a new strap. I’ve got 15 or 16 watches, 6 or 7 of which I wear on a fairly regular rotation and the others get worn occasionally.

·

Since I got the Sub, it's completely taken over my wrist. It's the clasp. It's like having a comfy strap but even more adjustable in a bracelet. That makes it for me.

·

Every time I get a new watch:

“OMG, this is it! This is THE watch and I will wear this watch only and no other until the day I die!!!! I may as well sell the others as I will never wear them again!”

This lasts about a month, then I re-discover the rest of my collection and take great joy in rotating them.

Repeat 😂

·

I have 5 watches, but the 2 most recently acquired (Seestern S434 and Wise Adamascus AD773) got months of continuous wrist time.

I guess I tend to long honeymoon phases. Well, I've been married for 24 years now...

·

Normally I wear a watch 1-2 days before changing. There are watches in my collection that have minimum wrist time. Still love them though and you can play with them without wearing them.

·

I tend to cycle my watches weekly-monthly rather than daily. So if a watch is not worn often this week, there’s a chance I’ll be wearing it more often next week/month

·

Yes, gotta have a cull.
