What’s your favorite watch complication?

There are so many different watch complications out there. Some of them seem useless in todays times (like a tachymèter) and others are super useful (like a date window). What’s your fsvoriwatch complication? Personally I enjoy a date window, even know a lot of my watches don’t have one and I also really love the GMT function.

I used to consider a date a must and still like to have it on most of my watches, but my favourite is probably a chronograph.

·

I love a date function. There are many watches I would buy if they had a date function. The Pelagos 39mm Pelagos and Longines Spirit Titanium are two for sure.

·

It has to be the date complication or even better a day date but for me the date complication is a most have for me unless it’s a dress watch there is a few really good watches that are spoilt for me for not having it the tuder black bays 39mm ones would be perfect for me but not having a date complication

"It tells the time"

All I want 👍🏻

·

I like the date but as my collection grows, I become lazy to set the date 😂so now I prefer a base movement.

·

The Date complication is a must. It's almost more important than the time.

·

I hate date complication. I don’t want to cycle through a month of dates when I set my watches.

Dive bezel is my favorite complication.

·

I really enjoy moonphases, even though they are mostly useless, theres just something so alluring about it

·

Chronograph for me, I use it all the time at work.

A tachymeter or rotating bezel isn't a complication though - they aren't making the mechanism any more complex.

·

For me it‘s got to be the date, then day date window. Currently working/ saving my way up to get a watch with a month day date comp. I own some chronographs, but for me i might as well use a digital watch to use the timer function as timer is more useful to me than stopwatch. If you want to be a bit romantic an am/pm indicator or moonphase might be best imo. Bezel- wise for me a gmt bezel is a lot more useful than a diver bezel; diver bezel serves the same purpose as a fidget toy for me. Sadly i don‘t currently own a gmt watch.

Time > Date > GMT > Worldtimer > Chronograph

·

Date, closely followed by a chronometer complication (super useful when cooking).

My least liked complication may be dive bezels; I absolutely do not see a need for it, and it often gets bumped/misaligned just by accident.

·

LEDs are my favorite guy

·

Date and GMT are my favorites. I'm also one of the few who actually PREFERS a date cyclops over a plain date window. A chronograph looks nice, but I don't use them all that often to be honest, since timing is way more comfortable on my smartphone.

·

gmt is my favorite. while not a complication, i do love a countdown bezel.

·

For me it’s the GMT function and honestly, I have no idea why 🤷🏻‍♂️😂.

·

Date, definitely the most useful, but as a slide rule collector, I also like being able to wear one of those on my wrist (if that counts as a complication).

·

Chronograph. If I'm wearing one, I'll end up using it.

·

Time.

Dive bezel is my favorite complication.

I agree completely. I prefer a simple time only with a dive bezel as I use it often to time things.

Although I’m also interested in picking up a flyer GMT at some point, not that I have frequent use for the complication.

Why not have everything?

Day, month, date, 24h indicator, minute recorder, half hour recorder, 12 hour recorder, chronograph.

8 hands in a 39mm case :)

Great choice.

Here’s my right wrist. It also has alot of complications.

I like things simple so 3 handed is fine with me but make it at least 28,800 VpH and with wear-resistant silicon movement. Also minimum 100m water resistance 😬

·

While I was still working, a day, date complication felt like a must. Now that I am retired, a simple 3 hand is my ideal watch since I generally don't give a rusty one what the day or date is. My computer or phone remind me if I have an appointment coming up, so I get to just enjoy my day.

·

A three hander with “ Automatic “ woohoo 🥳 my perfect watch because I can’t afford a Zenith El Primero or Omega Grey Side of the moon yet :) So my other favourite would be column wheel chronographs.

I don’t really use complications and nowadays I prefer watches without any complications. I can live with a date complication but even that is more of a pain in the ass than a really useful function in a wristwatch imo. I appreciate a good clean design and a high quality robust three hander. If I want complications I have a smartphone. I love watches because of their simplicity. Something I really miss in almost every part of modern life.

Bingo on the money 💰 100%

Same same :)

Being a G-Shock fan, I will just limit myself to mechanical watches. I love power reserves. Oh thats right, some of my G-Shocks have that too. But it looks best and is most useful on a hand wind.
