Datora alternative under $1000?

Anybody know an alternative of the Breitling Datora for under $1000? I'm looking for a vintage inspired chronograph, preferably with a salmon or cream...

The Black Bay GMT is a chunky boy, though. Nothing like the vintage GMT Master.

I think they have bracelet options for the Basic and the PRO lines. Only the Original do not have bracelet option.

Laco for $500, Stowa for $1000, IWC for $10,000.

Aesthetics wise, I like Laco's Basic Pilot pricing and Original Erbstück models. I also like Stowa's blued hands. But I also like IWC's polished bezel, because if I spend a lot of money for a watch, I want it to look nice. All are great options, I just buy according to my budget at the time.

Less than $1000, I'll buy new, as the savings might not be worth potential headache. Also, people seems to wear cheaper watches more carelessly, so dings and bursts are more apparent. For $2000 plus watches, I'll focus in finding used items from reputable watch dealers, as the savings is often significant and it can go to fund another watch.

My philosophy is to have a collection for each use case.

So, I'd have a dressy or a formal category for business meetings and suits (think of a 1908 or Tank, anything with a black leather band), an everyday category which would be a simpler time-date watch (think of an smooth bezel steel Datejust in dark blue or black dial), a casual category which can be a diver or a chrono (think of a Sub or a steel Daytona), and a weekend/ultra casual category which can have fun colors (think of a GMT Meteorite Pepsi), and a "bling" category to flex (think of a Skydweller blue dial in Everose or a GMT Rootbeer in full Everose).

I'm allowing myself to have multiple watch in each category, but I try to balance it out, not having too much of one category.

This is why as much as I love the Hamilton Ventura's design, I'd probably never get it because I don't know when I will where it.

The Vostok. I don't dress up much, so for me it doesn't make sense to get an expensive dress watch.
