Good afternoon fellow Crunchers!
For all of of you who own Citizen Eco-Drive watches, how long have your watches lasted until you had to get it serviced and get a new capacitor or get a new watch altogether? Have you ever heard of who has had their Eco-Drive the longest without any sort of service?
Just curious.
Have at it in the comments๐

I'm curious too
Had it since June 2018 with no issue. From what Iโve read they last about ~10y
My father has one that's never been serviced, and he's had it at least 20 years.

Whoa, it ran for 20y!? Thatโs crazy ๐คฏ
about 9 or 10 so far.
I've only had mine for a little less than a year, no issues so far.
I just had mine serviced for new capacitor last week. I think that I had it for 5-6 years.
Their manuals said about 10 years before changing batteries but it should last longer than that.
My dad has had his from when I was 10, and I'm 36 now. Still trucking away. Hard to know if their quality has dwindled over the years but I doubt it. I'm a massive eco drive fan. Such solid offerings.
Just waiting for @foghorn to find thisโฆ
No issues after ten years!
Citizen EcoDrive Promaster 2100 (Ron Swanson OG)... 17 years and never serviced. Running strong. I wear it at least once a week.
Neverโฆ
This has been in my possession for 12years and still works perfectly..
I had a Citizen Brycen Eco-Drive for about 5 years. It spent most of the first year in a drawer. Of course it was dead when I finally pulled it out again. I thought I had permanently killed it. I put it on a window sill for a couple of days and it came back to life. After that it kept very good time, it was a very good watch.
Had these 2 for more than a year and all is good ๐
10 years roughly mine needed a new capacitor

He's had it since before I was in high school, and I'm old now. He rarely uses it anymore and it mostly sits in a drawer, but it still works.
It's not a citizen, but I do have a Pulsar (Seiko-owned) solar that's been running like a champ since '98.
Meanwhile, I also have a Seiko Kinetic from the same time period whose capacitor lasted 5 years and had to be changed out. Been running fine since though... assuming I remember to wear it to charge it up.
I lost my eco-drive from the 90s (last century!) and found it again a few years ago. Had the capacitor changed and the technician said they don't use that model any more, so I probably can't get this done again....!
Mine finally needs to be servicedโฆ15years? 20? Not sure
Chrono not lining up at the 12
Also I set mine to match the time and dare website exactly and it is hands down my most accurate watch. It laughs at all automatic watches.
Mine is at least 20 years old and had never been serviced. Very accurate, zero problems.
Had my Attessa for less than a year... Didn't want to feel left out. ๐
Almost 15 years now, no service, holds the charge like a champ, and since itโs an AT โ Atomic Clock Synchronization โ I have never had to adjust the time or date since the day I bought it ! They are smazing watches !
Had these 2 for more than a year and all is good ๐
Woah! Those look great, what is the reference number for the blue diver?

there's probably a method of readjusting that chrono hand back to true by utilizing the pushers ... a Google search of that particular model might help

WTS]Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster, Dive Marine Polyurethane Men's Quartz Watch - BN0225-04L
Citizen has been making the Pro master tough for 20-25 years. It's a Eco drive and the old ones are called "Ray Mears". Before buying one last year I asked people about service experience. Got a bunch of people that said "never been serviced " 15, 17 18 years. So I bought one during a sale.
Had these 2 for more than a year and all is good ๐
Nevermind, my question was awnsered.
