Tudor Ranger University Graduation/24th Birthday Gift

In love with this Tudor Ranger that my Dad got me as a Graduation/24th birthday gift.

(Mandatory military service from 19-20 in my country)

I’ve always struggled in school so it’s such a relief to be 4 months away from being finally done!

For context, we have vastly different tastes in watches (and most things tbh) so he thought it’d be best to play safe and get me to pick one out within a pre-determined budget.

Never expected to love this watch as much as I do when browsing online because it’s just… boring. But one day we walked past a Tudor boutique and decided to go take a look.

Fell in love with the ranger the moment I saw it.

My dream watch is a Rolex Explorer 1 36mm, and in my heart I’d have been happy with a Sinn 556a or a Hamilton Murph.

Something about seeing the ranger in person conveys something that catalogues online can’t.

Lucky enough to have him notice that I really loved it even though it was out of our initial budget.

Fiddling around with what straps would look good on it, but honestly the bracelet is just so beautiful.

It catches light and glistens so beautifully, and the T-fit clasp makes it so I can adjust the fit throughout the day without any tools!

Thinking of bringing it with me on my Grad trip around Europe. Should I risk it or just bring a gshock 🤣Don’t wanna be robbed.

Thanks Dad❤️

Congratulations, that is a heck of a gift.

Special for all the right reasons. Congratulations!

·

Congratulations on graduating and an incredible watch! The Ranger is unique and very cool! Enjoy!

This watch has grown on me and I think you hare chosen wisely. I don't think this is a watch that gets as noticed as the Rolex Explorer but it's up to you to use it while traveling. That would be a great memory but, of course, you need to be smart and hide the watch or simply not go to specially dangerous places.

·

Congratulations! 🍻

·

This is beautiful gift

·

i'm conflicted about whether to take it on a European tour. It's a milestone watch from Dad. years down the road, you want to remember its significance. But... the memories you could make with it on your wrist!

·

Bring a G-Shock!

·

I think you willbe fine traveling with it

·

Excellent watch, congrats🍻. As a Tudor fanboy, I can say: ain't nobody robbing you for a Tudor.

·

Amazing watch; hope you make years of memories with it! Also, congrats on your graduation!

·

Great watch and awesome bracelet. This is a great GADA watch. I’d still bring a gshock for ultimate flexibility if the trip calls for something rugged.

·

Hey Daniel, congratulations on finishing university and getting a new beautiful watch to commemorate the occassion. That Tudor looks amazing, I’m sure it will serve you well. Have fun in Europe!

·

Congrats for the awesome grad watch! Always wanted a Ranger as well. Is your dad adopting any new son by any chance? 😋🍻

·

Congratulations! You should be fine with the Ranger through Europ I think. 💪🏻

Replace 'the ranger' with 'a watch' in this sentence, and I feel like this is a core truth in watch enthusiasm/collecting.

Enjoy that wonderful gift.

·

Excellent choice!! One day the Explorer 1 will be a great compliment to your Ranger.

You will be safe wearing the Ranger on your trip, it's not that recognizable except to us watch nerds :-)

·

Congrats on a fantastic gift. Wear it in great health

·

No ine will rob you for a Ranger. Love the Ranger, but thieves are looking for Rolexes, Pateks, and other higher end brands. You should be safe in Europe! Congrats on a sweet watch and on graduating.

·

Congratulations!

·

I agree that it looks better in person! Congrats!!

·

Great watch !

I am wearing mine for 5 months in a row and nobody even said “nice watch” or something like that. So no one will noticed you wearing it

·

Congratulations!

Yes. Take the watch on your travels and enjoy it. If you’re concerned, throw it on a nato strap. Nobody will look twice.

·

Congratulations and good luck - enjoy your trip. I gifted one to my son-in-law at Christmas on the hybrid leather/rubber strap and he never takes it off. That watch is a sleeper so wear it in good health and remember: "your long sleeve is your friend"

·

Congrats on that great watch! Also on my wishlist ✌🏼

·

Wear it! Honestly, so long as you’re not flexing your watches and keep it under a cuff it shouldn’t be an issue. I took some of my watches with me on a European tour and was fine.

I live in San Francisco and same deal here, FAFO- you f around and you find out. So long as you’re not flaunting it out loud you’ll be good 👍🏽

·

A great watch! Thinking of buying my son an Explorer for his graduation (he’s an archaeologist so lots of field work) - but it’s kinda pricey. I love Tudors. Why didn’t I think of a Ranger ? 🤷‍♂️ food for thought - congrats

Take it on your travels but make sure it is covered by travel insurance.
