Best YouTube watch reviewer?

There are plenty of reviewers with plenty of styles. My personal preference is for the reviewer to give my all the specs, the price, how well it tested and maybe some history.

Things I’m not interested would be the reviewers favorite watch that they have now or favorite watch they’d like to get or why the watch they are reviewing reminds them of their favorite watch or why their favorite watch is the most important watch in horological history or how they got the best deal that anyone could ever get etc etc etc. (If Steven Seagal was a watch reviewer he’d be noblesse oblige)

Mad Watch Collector has grown on me. Although the presentation... Might not be to everyone's taste. Haha

There are many but no one can beat the class, the depth and genuine love for watches like TGV from The Urban Gentry for me - His vlogs on watches are therapeutic and i love the fact that he talks about 20 dollars watch with same love respect and passion as he does for 20000 dollars watch . The next for me then is Teddy Baldassare - he is superb - And if I have to laugh and enjoy watch vlogs then no one can beat humor and fun (with knowledge) of Nico Leonard - I mean he coined the phrase God Tier in watch community so I owe him that

·

The ones I tend to stick to are TGV, MWC, Teddy Baldassarre, Watchfinder, Jody, Dave from Japan, and Ben. I've also recently found some others like John's watch joint, I like watches, and Watching James that do a pretty nice job. I stay away from the investment talk and blogs. Never heard of no bless oblige. ?

·

I agree with @GodTierHere , my favorite is The Urban Gentry.

I also enjoy Just One More Watch and Just the Watch too, since they dip low into my watch realm.

Teddy Baldassare, although I enjoy his videos, is more higher-end and I don't buy expensive watches.

It's about effing time 👍🏻

Swiss watch club

Watchfinder

Lots more...

Cant stand Nico or that fat swearing Aussie twat

JOMW is the most effective when deciding on a watch purchase but the most entertaining and enjoyable is TGV in my opinion. Epic quality to his videos.

There's a distinction between "reviewing" and "showcasing" watches; I find many YouTube watch videos and blog posts label themselves as the former but are actually the latter.

A proper -review- is a critical assessment and should include an element of personal opinion - positive and negative - and not simply a spec list and history lesson.

It's important to keep in mind the motivation behind the production of the videos as they may be more business/click driven versus enthusiast/hobby driven.

I watch plenty of EweTube watch reviewers, but I enjoy Jody (JOMW) the most. Entertaining and informative + I spent a couple of weeks in Scotland back in '89 and can't find enough good things to say about Scottish folks, they're great!

All the others mentioned here I've watched (and mostly) enjoyed too ... TGV, Teddy, Dave, Russell (MWC), Relative Time, et al ... Time Teller can be annoying at times (tries too hard to be funny, BUT is definitely NOT a comedian; like that annoying kid we all knew in High School!) and Archie, though amusing, can be a bit too much sometimes ...

Jenni Elle is a true delight to watch, but her watch-focus is too high-end for my wallet ... and sometimes my tastes! LOL!

Britt Pearce, a Canadian living in the UK is another female reviewer that is also a delight to watch as is Elizabeth Grant from the U.S.

·

JOMW is top of my list. I like Federico and Marshall at Wristwatch Revival and a few others. And some, like Armand at Watch Chronicler, seem to have moved on to pastures new. But Jody is worth watching even if I've no interest in the watch. ❤

·

I like Tim Mosso at Watchbox review although he doesn’t give the price and he only reviews what is in the inventory. But his YouTube channel covers wide varieties of watches. His review is comprehensive and very detailed.

·

I like a few, but lately if they are sponsored (with a free watch) I turn off, so, sorry to Jody. If he has bought it then I watch it.

I appreciate your reply. This is just my opinion, but I do not need to know other peoples opinion or how they personally feel about a watch to decide if I like it. One guy says it’s a gada watch but wait another guy says nah because it doesn’t have a date it wouldn’t be a good everyday watch. I can decide without the reviewers personal opinion 🙂

I like Brave Beaters

·

I appreciate Random Rob, for his straight to the point. No BS quick showcase his opinion only. No judgment, no instruction.

No one has mentioned Marc from Long Island. A little low tech on the video quality side. However, the absolute OG for any tutorial or questions about things. Plus he makes a damn good watch

·

IDGuy for the educated designer perspective and Escapement & Watch.

Best comment! Marc is my favorite.

JOMW and Relative Time are the only two I watch consistently, as they tend to have tastes and budgets that align with mine, and have a presentation style I find appealing.

I occasionally watch others, but I find a lot are annoyingly exuberant, dull, or pretentious sounding.

I agree on all points 🙂

I’m not really interested in reviews anymore I’m only in going to be buying 3 maybe 4 before I retire and I’ve identified them already. I like bens watch club because he’s entertaining along with the mad watch collector. I always enjoy the panels on casual watch talk and enjoy the quality of Oisin O Malley and of course TGV makes great content

Oisin! 💪 I love the story he told when Van Halen passed away. He is a natural born raconteur and he’s ok with who or how he is. Very impressive

·

✅ time teller

I’ve got to throw Peter Kotsa in the mix. Lovely presentation and to the point.

·

Have been enjoying The watcher for a while now 👍

Tim at Watchboxreviews is fantastic...he constantly surprises me with little tid-bits of history or watchmaking technique as he calls it out in realtime. I love that the reviews (or "showcases" @Civuck ) are only 5 minutes and just get right to rolling the amazing bean footage. He does only review fairly costly watches, but is worth checking out anyway. You will learn a lot more than you expected.

You’re terrific. Relative time as well.
