I had the same question...I had never seen it on a bracelet before. Man, it looks like it was made that way...nice job!

I would probably blow almost all of it on a pre-owned Speedmaster. Then pickup a budget diver (Seiko or Raven or something similar) for more extreme situations (swimming, yard work, etc).

A Speedmaster is incredibly versatile in a wide variety of situations, has a great movement and is culturally iconic even outside of watch-nerdom.

I think there are watches that are popular in watch nerd circles (Speedmaster, Nomos, Sinn) and then there are the hype watches (Rolex, AP, etc). Now these examples are operating at different price tiers, but hopefully I am communicating some of the distinction I personally see. I used to REALLY desire to own an AP at some point, assuming lottery winning and all that. I am a designer by trade and that was the first watch that really sold the DESIGN as the value (pricing above precision metal watches for the first time). For me, it represented an ethos I hold close to my heart...that design really matters. Over time I watched the prices launch out of our solar system and now an AP represents something completely different. I wouldn't turn one down as a gift, but I would not enjoy it the same way I would have 10 years ago. For that amount of money there are FAR more interesting choices out there, and I would rather not have the same watch as everybody else.

That is the Archimede Outdoor, right? How do you like it?

Feels like 5-10 years ago I saw Archimede all the time, but now they are rare as hens teeth. Hardly anything on the pre-owned market. Kind of weird

I did a SKX mod project a few years ago, and I REALLY like how it turned out. I wanted to upgrade the movement as well, but had some crossed wires with the watchmaker that was working on the project with me. The overall look and feel on the wrist was GREAT though...super happy with it. Here is the before and after the my project from a few years back.
