Stealthy Everyday Watch?

I need some help finding an under-the-radar everyday watch. I work in some places where it's not good to have a watch that could be confused for a Rolex, or something expensive. So I would like to find something that I can wear and enjoy but not be flashy and attention grabbing. Perhaps, confused for a Timex from a distance? My desirements for this are: - 36mm-37mm - Date - White Dial - 20mm Lug Width - Not Much Polish - Under $1000 I'm really leaning towards the Farer, but no date... I've also looked at the Nodus Sport and Muhle 29er. Any other suggestions?

Yeah.... I've been hovering over the buy button on one also since they came back in stock. I have a 104.

All 4 are great choices. I own a CW c63 sealander and can attest to it being a fantastic watch. The Baltic looks beautiful (and is on my wishlist however it definitely is more flashy looking then the CW)

I was havering between the Baltic and the Vaer. I think if you want something to fly completely beneath the radar, the Vaer is actually the best choice. They are very rugged, waterproof and could be mistaken for a Timex weekender. I have a Vaer solar field watch and it is very nice. My only gripe, and it may just be their watches with the solar movement is that they are on the thick side.

Is this because of snobbery or because you might get robbed?

·

Of those, the Farer by far.

·

This is actually one of the best multiple choices I have seen on here. I like all those but if I was forced to choose I think I would go with the CW close second is the Baltic and it's very close. Hard to chose between these to be honest.

·

I’m all about white or light colored dials these days and I’d go with the CW. I have a Trident and I’m sold on the company now. They live up to expectations.

I also have my eye on a Traska GMT with the white dial and the Hamilton Khaki King with the champagne dial.

·

The Farer definitely. No second thoughts the CW. No definitely the Baltic. Er I'll get back to you 🤯

Haha, not snobbery. I like mechanical watches, and want one that doesn't draw unnecessary attention. So yes, one that won't be targeted to get robbed. But also I want to not be showy either. I have several watches that "look expensive" and I'd like one that doesn't make people think that.

Casio Edifice EFV-110D if you don't mind a reliable quarz watch.

·

If not for your date requirement I would suggest the Clemence Munro.

·

I can recommend the Seiko SNXS73K

Under 200$ 👍🏽

I have that #baltic but it had no date and it’s a bit flashy. I absolutely recommend it.

But for you, perhaps the CW. (No personal experience tho).

I also have the older #nodus Ssctor Sport with date. The new sport doesn’t have a date I believe. Also recommend it!

A few options from the top of my head.

Islander ISL-40. Wont break the bank, has an optional bracelet.

Lorier Astra (currently not in stock)

Kuoe might have some options for you. They are customizable in terms of the options/upgrades.

Yema has a white dial edition of the Superman. Comes in 39 or 41 mm. The 39 is a small watch which wears quite light (I’ve had two of those). Good water resistance, rugged watch. In-house movement.

Oh, but Sinn did make a white dial 556i...

Discontinued???

·

Vaer and Farer seem the most “discrete” looking.

Discontinued???

Sadly it was only a limited edition

I think this is still attention grabbing because its different. Stealthy, in my mind, is finding something that doesn't turn heads when non-watch people see it. Maybe I'm too self-conscious? 🤷

Gotcha lol anytime someone says stealth I think all black.

·

Hamilton field watches definitely fit the bill of being rather discrete.

·

Wow! Over 400 votes today! Thanks for the feedback! It seems like the Farer and CW C63 are close to tied, and throughout the day we're trading first position back and forth.

Love that deep black dial, great contrast with the hands & indices.

What do you think about the lume?

That’s too bad. Looks cool.

·

Excellent choices. I have owned a Farer and it was a delight to wear and own. I currently own a Baltic and that is a bit cheaper because it has a slightly less accurate movement but a pretty little watch. I would happily recommend either brand

·

Any of these would be stealthy on a strap. I think bracelets catch people’s eye more than the actual watch. I have the CW - that would be my recommendation.

Unfortunately you just missed out on todays restock at Lorier (I think they’re sold out again) but you could keep an eye out for the Hyperion Skyward on the forums or sign up for Lorier newsletter for next restock alert.

If you search for the lorier group on Facebook, there are watches put up for sale in a chat there. I have bought 2 off of members of that group.
