What would you buy with $5K to $7K?

If you had approximately $6,000 to buy a new watch, what would you consider? Currently key pieces in your collection are: Rolex: DateJust Cartier: Santos de Cartier Omega: Seamaster, Aquaterra, WorldTimer Brietling: Premier40, SuperOcean Tag Heuer: Autavia

Speedy! You can do it!

·

Asking for a friend!

😉

Personally, I would get this...

... or this...

Heck, you can even get a spring drive, champagne dial beauty...

Image

... all brand-new, 5-year warranty!

My broker got 'em for me for less than $5k each, overnight shipping, and given your lower limit of $5k, you got enough left for several hundred bags of this...

hahaha! Love the extra room for the cheetos!!!

Ignore the poll results if they don't represent what you are longing for but consider them as choice validating if they do!😉

·

I'd go off brand from what you have. I'd get a Grand Seiko or a JLC if you could find one in that price range.

·

Vintage Patek Calatrava

·

Speedy 57 sandwich dial. Did you know that you can use the stopwatch as a second time zone? Just start it running at 12 for what ever time zone you want to track and let it run. It will even work for those pesky + 30 minute time zones. 🤯

·

I do have that much to spend and a bit more so I’m patiently waiting on the call from my Rolex AD.💪🏼

·

None of the above… but just buy the one your “friend” wants the most

·

I wouldn't buy anything between $1000 and $10,000. I can be happy with a sub-$1000 watch and I could be happy, I bet, with a Moser or a Breguet for more than $10,000. Between those I have no interest

·

I'd pay off my car loan tbh

·

I voted speedy but if I was you I'd seriously consider a used limited edition model from the last few years, a standard speedy pro is a depreciating asset, whereas historically a limited edition depreciates in the first 2 to 3 years then becomes an appreciating asset.

Just something to consider.

Vintage speedy from your friends birthyear would be my initial choice. Unless he is in his 60s this should be attainable for your budget. Any Omega 321 caliber is a perfect choice if that works with his year....1965 to 1969 for instance.

·

I voted Speedy but would add BB GMT to the options if a GMT is desired. The white face is amazing.

·

If you are asking for a friend. I would just buy the new Saint Martin GMT and throw the rest in a high yield saving account or stake it on coinbase in a stable coin(18%) APYand then wait a few months and buy another watch.

·

Based on the collection, agreeing with my man @HotWatchChick69. This exact watch can be had under $6k. Look at it and deny its gravitational pull, I dare you! :-) There are so many great options in that price range, but a GS would go nicely in the collection.

Seamaster, easily.

·

I would buy this one....❤❤❤...but I am very biased!!!

GL in your search, so many great options available, especially at that price point.

See @Max’s trilogy speedy. 😁😄😃

·

Dental work, or a car less than two decades old. Yes this is a sarcastic reply. Bite me.

·

Another vote here for a Grand Seiko Spring Drive......

·

Gotta be the most iconic watch ever made, the Speedy. Easy win.

·

Why not a used ap, vc or patek?Based on the collection, your friend needs to up the ante a bit...
