Please tell me.

Me, probably

That would be why that one 90's Casio quartz chronograph I have is missing three hands, the winding stem and crown, and the mineral glass crystal is glazed over from attempting to fix brick wall scuffs with fine sandpaper.

But the general answer would be that the watch stopped running. The above mentioned watch still runs.

Smashed an edifice against the wall when trying to swat away a pigeon and cracked the class completely 😭

I hope you managed to hit the pigeon, else the watch would have suffered in vain. 😆

That sounds like one aggressive pigeon

While trying on watches at my Seiko AD. My IWC dropped a meter on a tile floor. On close inspection it now has a scratches and a dent on the polished ring below the crystal. 😣

I grabbed my clothes off the bathroom counter without my glasses on and didn’t realize my Tank was sitting right by the clothes. I usually put my watches directly in my jewelry box when I take them off, but I guess I didn’t this time. The clothes swept the Tank across the bathroom with a good zip to the tile floor. Honestly, I don’t know how it didn’t completely shatter. It has a little ding on the corner of the SS case that sits on the opposite side of my line of sight. One more mark that says it’s mine.

Snapping the stem on my HMT Pilot… for which you can’t find parts. Had to have a new one custom made

First date with my now Girlfriend I stupidly wound my new-to-me 2015 Seamaster 300 on wrist & the crown came off in my fingers 😱

3 months & £490 later I got my Grail back, refinished, serviced and repaired. Couldn't be happier with the results, but felt like forever waiting!!

Bought used, suspect it was probably iffy when I got it (cheap) . Proper gutted when it happened, but it's saved me a service for 10 years..

Dropped my several days old Vanuatu Titanium from about 1 meter height when changing straps. The impact shocked not just the watch but the deepest part of my being as well 💀

Left a permanent flat dent on its lower left lug's pointy end, the one closest to my field of view out of its 4 lugs. Torturing my OCD on daily basis 🙄

Tripped on a mound of wires carelessly left by an electrician on some low scaffolding on a construction site, fell heavily injured my rotator cuff, broke a small bone near my shoulder but my Baume&Mercier watch gifted to me by my wife and daughters was badly scarred, domed sapphire crystal was cracked, flat bezel was beyond polishing, oddly was still functioning perfectly. My ad suggested shipping back to Switzerland for a proper full service, a few months later my watch returned looking brand new, seem to recall my injuries took longer to heal. 20 years later, remains one of my favourite watches.

Being an invicta

·

As I've mentioned many times before, there were two actions that destroyed on of my watches:

a) Giving it to my brother.

b) Taking it to a Mexican hotel pool.

·

Threw my hamilton khaki field fiercly with full force on the floor during the rage fight with my spouse 😂broke the winding mechanism. Jesus christ i cant believe this now 😱

·

My son and I met in our small kitchen. He had a mug of coffee in his hand which hitted the crystal of my Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon. This happy accident costed me 1000 €....😄

·

Lol that was exactly the gif I was hoping for.

One of my watches had to watch me vomit my guts up after discovering how delicious brandy was. If it could speak it would have been very disappointed in me.

I've similar stories haha.

in my case it was maple cream liqueur, vodka, gin, jaeger and limoncello

·

I've several stories.

My Oris TT3: Previous owner accidentally dropped it and sheared off the upper pivot of the oscillating pinion. I repaired it.

I built a seiko powered field watch for my brother, most of the parts were sourced from Namoki mods. That watch endured a crystal down 30km/h slide up a gravel road after a one-wheel crash, was dropped on a gym floor several times. Flew off the nato strap twice across a hardwood theatre floor. The crystal finally shattered after being bashed off of some bit of metal while he was helping me fix my BMW.

We ordered a new case. haha

The worst thing that's happened to my seiko monster, would be me haphazardly waving my arms about across the floor with it on my wrist, or lifting my arms and then forgetting how to control them halfway through. I was flat out on the floor absolutely plastered at the time. My friend who was with me took the watch off and sat it on a coffee table shortly after.

I never harmed one of my watches however I once fired a pellet gun through a fake DD😂

I love myself some good Jägermeister. On one occasion, a friend brought a bottle but no shot glasses, so we sat on camping chairs arranged in a circle and passed the bottle around until it was empty.

Cream liqueurs have a restraining order against me. They are the most dangerous substance known to man. Alcohol and loads of sugar. I'd be in better shape if I started eating enriched plutonium.

Jägermeister is honestly one of my favourite things to drink.

I haven’t tried absinthe yet though. I’ve heard it has similar notes? I’m gonna order some from the Tofino distillery shortly.

And yeah. Cream liqueurs are brutal. Just give me neat vodka or anything else.

They’re so good that I completely forget that there’s alcohol in them. And the sugar… after I… recovered from that night, I couldn’t eat anything sugary for weeks. lol.

Also the limoncello was far too sweet.

That was…a rough night.

I usually end up drinking from the bottle, gin, jäger, vodka, it’s bad…

Smashed a gold King Seiko to bits in a cycling 🚴‍♀️ accident . Destroyed a great bike in the process and grazed the crap out of my face and body .

·

One of the basic chromed casios that I got back in college... I bought it, stepped outside the shop, opened it and dropped it on concrete.😅

·

My tissot chronograph quartz, was a present from my homies on my 18th birthday.

Stolen from our office. Some guy walked in and took it, one of the worst days of my life 😢

Looked something like this

My 1965 Seiko Sportsmatic is currently awaiting repair after a meeting with a watches greatest enemy; a door handle.. popped the acrylic crystal from the bezel, and took off the hands while it was travelling..😭

There was a speck of dusty fiber on my watch dial. I thought it was an easy fix I unscrewed the back and it was an automatic watch. I did not had the proper tools. what a horrible mess I did broke some components and did not went back. I somehow managed got it back and never worked the same it stopped often. And wow I felt bad and embarrassed lucky it wasn’t a expensive watch.🫨
