Ultimate Watch - price, brand, and status excluded

In an alternate universe where prices, brands, and status were not attached to wristwatches, which watch would you choose and why? Stipulations: you are from this universe and know about the watches from our reality, yet will never be able to sell your watch or benefit from the status a timepiece conveys.

In this alternate universe, do I also get to look like this... ?

It's official': Henry Cavill is coming back as DC's Superman - Los Angeles Times

I voted favourite production model, just because I assumed it means your favourite watch that is made right now. In my case that also happens to be a utilitarian watch, so I was a bit torn on where to park my vote.

Sure.  However, in the alternate universe, the hottest guy around looks like this:

Surprisingly, he has a 6" wrist.

I'm totally going to choose vintage collectible here. There are so many great pieces that appeal to me in this category, but are either out of reach, or intimidating since there's not that many watchmakers in my area. I guess that would have to be part of the stipulation, also, to be able to afford to send it off for repairs! 😂

So what would your favorite production watch be?

Something with a date and a timing bezel.

Marathon GSAR.

It combines affordability, durability, finishing (utilitarian), and LCF (look cool factor). If I was to start collecting all over again, I start with a GSAR, buy a dress watch, and call it a day.

In this world where prices, brands, and status of watches do not matter, function would be about the only thing that would matter, so it would be a utilitarian piece. The ultimate utilitarian watch type is a G-Shock. This would be my choice.

If I was getting a mechanical utilitarian watch, I'd pick this tegimented Sinn.

My wife was looking over my shoulder, her question was, “is this the universe where all of MY dreams come true?“

She said feel free to check with your wife also!

Only if I get to look like this.

Anyways, I'd like to say C but truth is, I like the shinies just as much as the utilitarian watches. So D for me.

Please ask before using my photo!

This, or whomever has the cleanest, multi-axis tourbillon.

I've never seen this before.  It reminds me of something Indiana Jones might have on his wrist.

·

Mine doesn't exist.  I'd want a no-date polar 16570 with the crown at 10.  Possibly HAQ, but I'm on the fence, there.

·

I'd wear a Ressesnce Type 3 because, I mean, look at it
