Which one?

You've heard me wax poetic about my love for all things Hamilton. It seems I have a wandering eye (no worries for the Mrs. The dead can't wear watches). I've been smitten by these two. You all know CW. Pitzmann is a microbrand out of Seoul. Their first was gorgeous. This 2nd screams tool watch. Peter Kotsa and the fuzzy Time Teller were besotted with it. I could go with the Murph, but these offer great value for money too.

Flip a coin?

Both are great

·

Prx and then start saving for an AT

·

I've been following Pitzmann for a while. That watch is quite cute, but I'll wait until one really gets me.

·

That Pitzmann is all the things

I love CW but the whole integrated bracelet fad does nothing for me.

·

Pitzmann seem to be very very fine. Amazing craftsmanship

·

CW is a copy of the Czapek Antractique. I would pick the Pitzmann for originality.

·

Funny enough I’m saving for PRX and I’m about to pull the trigger on the green Pitzmann. Pitzmann screams Omega AT to me bur at a price I can afford. Between the two, I say go for the Pitzmann. Get a PRX over the CW. Less expensive and just as much class and clout. Nothing really compares to the pitzmann at this price point. I’m open to criticism because this Pitzmann will be the most expensive watch I’ll have in my collection.

·

I would go with the Christopher Ward, from what I have experienced they are excellent watches.

·

Christopher Ward. Is the twelve a homage? Almost certainly. But all of these 70s style integrated watches are so alike in look it shouldn't bother anyone.

A lot of quality for the money.

·

Well I'm a bit biased here as a 12 owner in that colour, and loving it,awesome watch,quality....could go on, but I'm biased. Objectively you'll have to decide on what style you want, the 12 is definitely more in your face whilst the Pitzmann is bit more classy and daresed say traditional. Both fine watches (only heard good things about the Pitzmann) so up to you, my opinion is for the 12,if I'd handled the Pitzmann I might have a different opinion. If you want a livelier looking watch the 12, for something more understated and from a rarer brand go for the Pitzmann.

Reviewers who've like it mention the Aqua Terra.

That's the one sticking point for me.

Mine too.

I mean it’s beautiful, and so is the Tissot PRX for far less money. But there’s no versatility, can’t pop straps on in a second and it will always just be what it is.

You can put it on a rubber strap but from CW, of course.

Get The Twelve! My favourite “luxury” steel watch currently. Here’s a photo of it beside the Antartique.

I have a quartz PRX which I’m happy with. I also have a CW Sealander (mine is green not blue)

To my eyes it’s got AT vibes similar to the Piztmann for similar money. I’m not at all familiar with Pitzmann though but a quick google search shows it has a better movement and more interesting dial than the CW. What the Pitzmann doesn’t seem to have is micro adjustment on the clasp or on the fly adjustment.

Really hard to say at this point as I love both Pitzmann and CW. For the originality and exotism of a little brand I would say go Pitzmann but if it was for myself, I would choose the CW (shorter lug to lug, prefer the hands, love how it sits on the wrist on photos).

·

CW is excellent value, but the Twelve's integrated / tapered strap design does not appeal to me. I had not heard of Pitzmann, but this model is very good looking (on a leather strap ofc :-) So i'd go with that one (if reviews re quality are numerous/convincing enough).

Pitzmann period. Selita SW200 Vs SW300. It's a simple choice for me. Also It has a more versatile design, bracelet and it's overall better value for money imo. 12 for $1250 is a tad bit too expensive imho. I'm not a big fan of integrated designs like 12.

·

The twelve! It looks much better than the other one.

Yeah, my sticking point too. If I could at least try on the PRX, I'd know if the integrated bracelet is for me. And yes in regards to that movement.

·

No lack of good choices, to be sure.

Is there any difference between the movements other than sw300 being thinner and having a better power reserve?

Those are the obvious ones but I read somewhere that sw300-1 has better shock absorber qualities and better accuracy than sw200. Power reserve alone is more than worth it imo. Either way all that for $999 is a no-brainer imo.

Ah okay thanks. And yeah it definitely looks like an amazing watch! Maybe someday...

Pitzmann

·

Late to party but if not committed then would lean hard at the Ti versions (Blue!) of the 12 - seem like an incredible value and excellent GADA

·

It would be CW for me quality watch with a great movement...

·

Ok so an update. I now have the gold PRX quartz and the green Pitzmann. Hit me up with questions if you have any, but the Pitzmann is amazing and arguably my favorite watch.
