Becomb phantom on the wrist today

Today I had the privilege of trying on the becomb phantom. I asked my coworker to bring it in and he did. In fact he brought in 2 of them but I'll concentrate on this one. First let's get the technical specs out of the way then I'll tell you why I actually like it.

Image

It comes in the goldilocks size of 39mm

Image

A very manageable 47mm lug to lug for even the smallest of wrists.

Image

Basically a strap monster using 20mm width

Image

And even tudor haters will love the 12.8 mm thickness

Image

The only drawback I see is the Rolex / tudor type screw down case back.

What I really like about the "watch" was the way my coworker passionately spoke about the company the guy who makes them is named Levi Maestro. He even told me how he comes back every once in a while to release new "watches" I told him if he ever wanted to get a "real" watch to come to me first so I could guide him. He told me eh I don't really care about real watches but if I do ill come to you. The other thing that got me is when he took out the piece and noticed a scratch on it then he started rubbing it like how most of us react. I then went on to tell him that there are people who love seeing scratches and consider them memories. Heck after a while I forgot I was talking to him about a fake watch and I was actually talking to him about something he really liked. It's the same thing with some Invicta owners. When I was on facebook those guys spoke passionately about their watches and I realized that as long as you love it who cares what others think. Have a great weekend everyone

You look at your phone 🤣

Looks like a case maker's salesman's samples. Nothing wrong with it just not the same product as a watch.

·

😉 sorry but I have to:

Wife: "Darling...do you know where the brass dish of my aunty is?"

They do exist!

To each their own. It's more just watch shaped jewelry, which is hard to get over. Probably similar reason why people continue to wear watches that no longer work.

·

It’s a bit odd, for sure, but I kinda like the idea. And that utterly pointless cyclops is the chef’s kiss. Brilliant.

Second biggest question…why a screw down caseback? What’s in there?

The secret to Capitalism

Does anyone know where I can find a double domed sapphire crystal mod for one of these?

this is what need! perfection! can make a set with a ring (stay on the Japanese site. Official site) https://www.casio.com/jp/search-result/?query=ring&referrerPageUrl=https://www.casio.com/jp/watches/sustainability/

several ring options available

If you're up for wearing a comment on late capitalist pointlessness, this seems like the best way to do it. You know that thing where we look at our watches to tell the time, but forget to actually read the time because we're caught up in the beauty or memories attached to the watch we maybe forgot we strapped on that morning? Well, now you get to be simultaneously in on that joke and the butt of it.

this thing is as pointless as bathing a fish!

In 1923 a Russian painter Kazimir Malevich created a painting called "Black Square", which was just a square painted black, in oil on canvas. Later this "painting" was sold at some auction for $85,000,000.00. So, why not have this watch, which does not do anything. I expect this "watch", in the near future to also fetch a nice round sum. I would congratulate you coworker on a very smart investment.

It's the horological equivalent of Magritte:

Deep stuff. I guess the question is, how existential do you want to get every time you glance at your wrist to figure out if you're going to catch that train?

Lies.

So the perfect no-watch collection finally exists!

So that we get a water-proof case... I could use that case as a photo frame... 😁

Where’s the time

Right here with Morris Day

Reminds me of Doctor Who's psychic paper 🤣

If this makes someone happy, ok. But I would get totally mad by wearing this. I would catch myself a million times during the day looking for the time, turning my wrist and be like „screw it, just a fake watch“.😂 If I sometimes choose to take of my real watch for some heavy work I even fall for this. But with an actual „watch“ and the feel of wearing one it would drive my crazy.😝

·

There's some irony here around the phrase 'a waste of time'. But ok, strictly for the modern art 'connoisseur'.

·

Ok,,,what is it ?

·

Nice strap…..

·

I bet getting it serviced is cheap as

There is probably a forum for men’s bracelets somewhere. This needs to be posted there instead. This isnt a watch, it’s a fashion bracket.

·

Fools gold springs to mind a watch that's not a watch why not wear a bracelet or simply buy a timex they do some truly beautiful watches for around 100-200 mark 🙈🙈🙈
