Challenge: Name me a brand I have not heard of…
I was with my business partner last weekend and we had a couple of hours to kill. So like any normal, healthy, addict-free adults, we went window shopping for watches.
We were at a mall where it’s known for gray dealers. There were rows and rows of Rolexes, Pateks, Cartiers, RMs, Audemars, Omegas and etc
Then it hit me. It’s the same sh*t over and over again. I mean there were some desirable pieces but 95% are all from mainstream brands.
Being a horophile, I do indulge in micro brands, independent watchmakers, Japanese watchmakers, German watchmakers and etc.
But I’m hungry for more.

Rolf Cremer - German brand, formerly might have said they were fashion watches but also some more unusual stuff

Of you haven't heard of them, wise are a micro brand (yes ik that's cheating) that make great watches with gorgeous dials and amazing finishing
Friend introduced me to the Japanese microbrand KUOE. They make vintage inspired classical design watches, most around 35mm.

Bangalore Watch Company. A microbrand in India (based out of Bangalore city) — I’ve been eyeing their Manzinus watch from their Apogee series. It celebrates India’s 50 years of space exploration.

I spend some weeks going back and forth between this and the BB58. I can’t differentiate any difference in quality, comfort or accuracy between the two. But the Orion is half the price.
