Talk me into or out of buying a Farer Endeavour Titanium Series II...

I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on buying a £1k diver for quite a while now. The one I've always hankered after is this from Farer. What does anybody/everybody else think? If you weren't going down this route, what diver would you get for the same price point? Thanks for any advice.

Buy it if you like it.

·

Whoa, don’t know much about the brand but that photo looks stunning! I would say to try it on if you can before making a decision.

·

Farer makes great watches and this is definitely an original-looking diver. Personally I have a crush for the C60 at this price range, but I think this one is a good pick too if that aesthetic talks to you.

·

Does it come in any colors, and what's with the big 12? Everyone knows that having one index mark is silly, and that calling it 0 or 00 is cooler. How do you even pronounce Farer?

·

If you like it, go for it. If you're looking for an alternative, you can consider a Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro series diver. They're on sale now and also utilizes an SW-200 movement.

·

Another great design from Farer! I love this design… I’m not a big fan of titanium but I could be swayed, lol.

·

I’ve got the other one of these the Leven II

It’s a great watch and the service you receive from Farer is top notch. The only issue I’ve had is with the bracelet they offer with the diver. The whole thing feels cheap, it offers no microadjust and it’s more of a pain to resize than the most awkward Seiko bracelets I’ve had.

·

If you really want a watch, you’re not asking anyone. That’s been my experience. When you want something, anything, you don’t need convincing. That said, the only Farer I ever bought I immediately gave it to a friend. Didn’t excite much. Good luck!

·

It's a quite original design. I think it is very hard to innovate and create something new as they explain.

That said, when I decided I wanted my first (and only, for now ) dive watch, I went the other route and got one of the most iconic diver designs from an iconic brand: a Seiko MM200 1968 reinterpretation. So yes, nothing original, just a dive watch that looks exactly like the perfect standard of a dive watch have in my mind.

That model caught my eye, as I guess this one has caught yours.

I say look at the watch in person before buying. Judging only from that photo, I can see that someone was crying over the watch. It makes you wonder what made this person cry. Was the watch so much better than what they expected, or was it so bad it brought them to tears?

For reference, what size is your wrist?

(I love this design, but my wrist is only 6.25")

My wrist is 7” so this might feel a little big.

·

Exactly

·

If you like the watch go and get it as our oppinion won't and shouldn't change your mind unless it is rubbish ( this isn't ). But if you want my oppinion I don't like the overall design and lower grade of titanuim

That’s what she said!

I think the fact that the OP needs to seek validation is proof enough that they shouldn’t buy the watch. For something that should be an organic, personal process, we’ve already gone off-piste.

We’re here now though… so might as well settle it.

Aesthetically, it’s ok. It’s a super-compressor style diver with elements of a field watch, which is an interesting mix but slightly convoluted. I doubt you’ll dive in it, but you can wash your hands. It’s probably more expensive than it needs to be. Vintage watches do it cooler, and full-blown divers do it wetter. Without context as to what you want, need, have, desire, this is just algorithmic landfill; in 72 hours, nobody will remember.

Cache? Well Farer are a popular microbrand, so you get to hang with the cool kids. Is that what you want?

·

Do it.

I’ve been seriously thinking of picking one up myself…

·

Pass. The bezel crown is screw-down, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a (potentially) convenient way to measure time intervals.

·

Oh, you've come to the wrong place for an intervention. I really like Farer and that looks fantastic. But sad to hear the bezel is a screw down affair.

Had this on my radar for a long time, love the mint green looking lume hands. I think it is a terrific piece and Farer is the king of colors IMO. I will add a Farer to my collection someday and this is a front runner. The sexy 2 min video really sold me.

You, sir, need to keep your money in your wallet. Lol. For your own sake. Or not. No one can turn their eyes away from an accident. It's not schadenfreude, really. 😆

Yeah that's quite nice.

Here are a few ideas. Sorry some are more pilots than divers. All below a grand except maybe the Citizen GPS one.

I think the Boldr is like 1000 Singapore dollars which is definitely more than 25 schmeckles but I'm not sure about USD. Maybe like 700 bucks ish.

And many of the others are like 200-400 ish.

You pronounce "Farer" as in seafarer.

·

Have you considered this? I think it looks stunning (currently in pre-order for early august this year)

·

It looks awesome. I vote yes 🎯

I don't understand the comments telling the OP to not ask for advice and do what he wants.

Really, I think we all know this is a site for watch enthusiasts and we will give our opinion/advice if asked but in the end, he will do whatever he wants with his money.

Is he wasting your precious time making you read his post?

I see all posts as a way to start a conversation, get other members to engage, enjoy pictures of watches, and learn about them from other more knowledgeable people.

People can point out the positives or negatives of a watch and compare it to others, or talk about their own experiences, and that is helpful for me and the OP.

I didn't know what a "compressor" dive watch meant and I didn't know the screw-down bezel action could be seen as a negative point. Now I know, thanks to this post, and if these bits of information are helpful for him to make a better decision, well that's all he was asking for, as well as alternative watches he might not know.

I just received mine today and can confirm this is a really nice looking watch in the flesh

People are complaining about the screw down crown for the bezel, however even with the crowns pulled out (yes both) it is still good to 100m.

That said even as someone that dives I wouldn’t necessarily use this for diving (using a crown to set the bezel can be a pain underwater)… but it’s nice to know I could use it if I wanted.

It’s a very cool watch though I’m really happy with it and definitely something different in my collection.

How do you like it having had it for a while? Is the bracelet worth it?

It’s a titanium bracelet so it’s very lightweight and I think a lot of people may not like it because it doesn’t feel solid like steel one would.

But I love it… I haven’t switched back to the rubber strap since I got it. It’s very comfortable and made well… however it uses a friction pin system for adjustment so you’ll need a pin pusher tool to adjust it rather than a screwdriver
