Help me, Crunchers! In need to find a replacement watch

My best friend's wedding is in less than three weeks and I purchased him (and myself) some Citizen Tsuyosas to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter. I just got them in and....it feels so big. Bigger than my SSK001. Bigger than my G-Shock. My heart is saying no. This watch wouldn't work for my friend as well because his wrist is one inch smaller than mine (me being 7.5" and him being 6.5"). So now I face a dilemma. I must find a replacement. I was trying to get a watch that could be used for most outfits, whether it be for work or for play. Other models that came to find were the Seiko SRPE55 or an Orient Bambino. Thoughts?

My wrist is 6.5 inch I think 40mm is a nice size. Some times I push the boundaries with a 44mm.

It comes down to what you’re comfortable with, but I don’t think most people would consider that watch particularly big. My wrist is 7.25” and I think it fits me just fine.

I appreciate the references haha. Also shoutout to that Bulova A15 Pilot!! I had one and it was incredible! A shame that it doesn't have a date 😅

·

Def not bad options. Thank you for the recommendations 🙏

Hey man, more power to you. Truly. I just....it just feels like all dial. Like...I've got a Seiko Fuyugeshiki that measures at 41mm and that watch feels smaller than the Tsuyosa. It's nuts.

Yeah, small bezel and big dial can wear big. If it's not for you it's not for you.

Maybe your buddy loves big watches? 🤷 Maybe just keep it as is and see his reaction? Maybe he will be thrilled and wear it proudly. Afterall, it's his wrist, his likes and dislikes.

I'd keep it as is. And for the next special occasion (no, I'm not talking about his next wedding) get him something smaller. But I'd wait to see his response first.

The Tsuyosa is a fantastic piece. There's another alternative... I would love to get one... Get him a Bambino and send me the Tsuyosa? 🤷 My wrist is big enough for it! You don't have to worry about that.

Nah. It's too big. We went to the Wind Up Watch Fair last year and I saw what lit his eyes up. I'm going with the silver/rose gold PRX because coincidentally enough, it matches his wedding ring. It's perfect.

Very good replacement choice. The PRX and Tsuyosa have many design similarities. Both exquisite. Shall I dare say the PRX might be more reliable? (I'm sure someone will let me know that I'm completely wrong in the comments below)

I feel I have a similar issue with size. But it's the opposite. Small watches on my wrist get lost. I'm a fairly big guy at 6', 250 lbs with 8 inch wrists (7.75 on a good day).

I was looking at this cause I want a Tiffany dial and I saw various pics of people wearing them and it just appeared enormous. I know it’s not, 40mm, but the Tsuyosas just look gigantic.

Let him have it. It’s an excellent watch. He will not regret it.

·

Jomashop has a nice deal on this Certina presently. At 39mm it should wear nicely for both of you.

I share the view.

I have 17cm wrist (6.75”) and I find it fits nice.

Maybe some Bulova ? it could fit the price range

For example this model ? but there is a lot out on the market.

A great choice for a wedding

·

It's not just about the wrist size. I also do have a 6,5 inch(ish) wrist (16cm), but it fit. Because I'm tall. So as long as the lugs didn't stand out over the wrist edges everything is ok as soon he is not small in hight and skinny.

Other alternatives in this price range.

Seiko SRPE57K1

Seiko Cocktail Timer

Laco Basic line like Aachen 39

Or an Junghans Milano Solar (The solar cell-lines are visual)
