It's been a minute...

Hey everyone!:D

It's been a while. I hope everyone's been doing well. I fell off of here for a bit because I got busy with work and it was some kind of tough to try to keep up. But now I've got a moment to fill y'all in with what I've been up to!

Image

So, I'm first going to start off with what I sold. First, the Timex Marlin Sub-Dial. Ever since I had read this review where the person said that the watch couldn't figure out if it wanted to be sporty or dressy...I couldn't help but see it that way. It kind of turned me off from the watch which is SUCH a shame. But I also have two watches that nail both the dressy bit and the sport-y bit...ish. I'll get into those two later.

Image

Next, the the Seiko Turtle Dark Manta Ray. The watch became a seasonal watch for me. By that, I mean like I'd only wear it during the winter. Like....only the winter. It didn't even feel right to wear during the fall. And honestly, if you remember when one of my posts where I expressed my pet peeve with seeing the off-green color for some hour markers (if you didn't see it, that's alright), this watch landed in that pet peeve realm. So....it was sold. C'est la vie. GG.

Image

And then for the Victorinox Alliance. It stayed in my case. Barely got any movement because I was busy enjoying other watches. And so I sold it to my co-worker. A shame that there isn't much else to say about it lol. It just felt too basic. Idk. I completely forgot to post it in the collage I made haha. So that should say how I really feel about the watch. GG.

AND NOW THE NEW WATCHES THAT I'VE ACQUIRED WOOP WOOP.

Image

First, the Seiko SCVS013 "Blue Spark"! I was expressing to a friend that I wanted a white-dial watch that'd be a bit more dressy. Something like the SARB035. He then tells me that he's actually saying his Blue Spark! I look it up and mamma mia...talk about clean and sharp. I was sold on it, homie brought it to me, and it's nice. It's very, very nice. And it's just SO sharp. I'm very much here for it. And I'm pretty happy how I've got straps on hand already. For now, I've got the watch on a blue canvas strap as seen on the photo. Matches the color scheme very well.

Image

Next, the Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 Compression (Model #ZO9289). I'm going to get more into the watch in another post, but this watch is the first time where it truly feels like I've entered a whole new league. It's absolutely nuts, beautiful, and soooooo sharp. I'm so happy with it.

Image

And that's p much it with my. Only other update I've got is that for my Seiko SSA385J1 "Fuyugeshiki," I've got the original bracelet on it and MAMMA MIA, it's a looker. In the past, I wasn't a fan of this watch on the bracelet but now I am? And it's pretty fire??? Guess my preferences do change over time.

Now tell me what y'all have purchased!:D Or maybe you sold something? Or maybe you've got your sights on something? Please share!

Great to have you back! You've been busy!

Those Seikos' you've picked up are utter stunners aren't they??

Which watch is getting the most wrist time at the moment?

The Fuyugeshiki I've had for a while now, but I've recently slapped the bracelet on it and it's so nice. And the Blue Spark may be small, but it has such a LARGE presence. I love it. Funny enough, my Brew Metric PVD Black and my Seiko SPB313 have been getting a lot of wrist time, but now it's going to be my Super Sea Wolf. I'm so pumped.

Welcome back Brian. It’s been a minute bud. You secretly got down to business and leveled up! Sad to see the Turtle go as that one’s in my collection too. It’s also one of my specialist watches and it doesn’t see as much wrist time as I have other divers too. That Seiko you picked up is super clean.

Only watch pickup for me has been the Nodus Duality I won in the last auction. Did a weeklong review on it and took it up to Vancouver (as my only watch) for a week of urban, outdoor, and pool adventures. That and my daughter has claimed my F91-w so it’s been a fair deal.

Yeah that Turtle was a goody. But...my taste and preferences have very much changed. It was a good watch. Still would very much recommend. And yeah, the Blue Spark is so sharp. And big ups to your kid wearing a piece!:D The Duality looks pretty clean too. Good to hear that you've been enjoying it!

Totally get it man. Just have to own the size when I wear it. I got new straps (NATO and vulcanized rubber) for the Turtle to get it to wear a little better. The OEM Seiko buckle had a curve in it that dug into my veins. Clearly, this watch was not made for a man of my…wrist girth 🤣.

Yeah nah I hear that man. I'm not a fan of the OEM strap. It's.....alright. I had it on a bracelet or a NATO strap, but with me having two Brews and this Blue Spark....I'm starting to lean into smaller watches. I've only got one Turtle left. The dial is a REAL goody.

Welcome back, Brian! That's a nice turtle you got there, the manta rays are so fun to look at

Hey Bud, long time no see but you've made amends with such an inviting post so you're in the clear!

What a beaut that Blue Shark, very very clean!

That zodiac looks so rugged! Tactical and bossy... Like that very much.

As a seiko fan boy, the new additions make me happy 😁 thank you for sharing.

I like the direction your style has taken, has given you an even better taste in watches.

Currently I'm looking to sell my Tissot, it's doesn't get much wrist time and

A friend of mine offered me the right price just waiting on him to get back from state side. Hopefully I can put that back into my savings for what I really have my eyes on.

Picked up a few good deals since too; got this Movado from my jeweller for cheap, fairly beat up but it's my jeweller and anything he recommends is a go in my eyes. Got a PRX after all the hype around them and I really do not regret it, fits so comfortably and really does go with almost any occasion.

Went to check my jewellers to see if they had anything for my brother but he never got around to spending money so, I got something for myself instead.... It gives me that Cartier aesthetic and I'm a huge fan so couldn't help myself for 1/10 the price.

Have an orient tri-star coming tomorrow that I got dirt cheap so I took it (look out for my NWA post). While I'm supposedly saving for a Santos, if only I could just not buy anymore watches until then lol.

Yeah man, the struggle is real with NOT trying to buy watches. And yeah I mean....over time, some styles get old and some styles begin to fancy me. The only real way that my taste has changed is just getting into smaller watches and not doing anything above 42mm. And these are some lovely pieces that you've got here! That Movado one is pretty interesting. I respect it.

does tissot offer fluted PRX?Costum made by watchmaker?

I bought this one from my jeweller (family friend). I'm not sure if they're sold from Tissot as is but I see them online often enough.
