HULK

Every watch has a story. This one doesn’t. AD called, and I had no choice but to drop everything drive over, and buy it without consideration or planning. It’s an unfortunate customer experience, especially when paying 9k. The AD thinks he’s gifting you this watch and making me pay for my gift. Smh🤦🏼‍♂️

Beautiful watch! What a great pick up!

What a shame, to go and spend your hard earned money on a great watch only to get let down by customer service is a terrible reality. The entitlement of the Rolex AD sucks and we suck for letting them get away with it!

With that being said. I probably would’ve done the same. 😉 Enjoy your watch! You earned it it more ways than one.

·

That's unfortunate. My AD has never been anything but excellent. Always make me feel welcome. Even helped with another watch I purchased elsewhere.

·

I own a lot of watches, a few regrets, noticed the modern Tudors was willing to revisit a spurned brand because I was ready for a bronze watch, excellent value, cases could be prettier but the no nonsense watches returned me emotionally to my first years collecting watches, beautiful memories when my body had more than a single slow speed. I declined a sales clerk’s text for the Pelagos FXD 7 might be enough. Long story but an ad manager reached out to me through her colleague at a competing shop that she could assist if there were any Rolex watches on my radar, excluding the mythical deeply desired ceramic Daytonas reserved for fellas that she likes a lot more than me with Black credit cards. I was humbled by the gracious gesture, I am not deserving of such treatment. I really love the Hulk but am a petty man, still hold a grudge against some officious functionary working for Rolex Canada a million years ago. Occasionally my wife and I will encounter some person or persons wearing a Rolex, I earn a nice allowance from my fierce partner for not ranting about my past experiences with Rolex during those moments.

·

Still have never bought a Rolex from an AD. Only bought Omega, Tudor, Panerai and Tag from an AD. Owned many Rolex’s but im not playing the AD game with them. Great watch brother enjoy!!

·

Congratulation to your new watch. Must say it was harsh treatment from your AD. Unneccesary stress taking away some of the experience. I was recently offered my waitlisted watch. They left it reserved for me for 14 days. I didn’t need that time but I think it’s a nice gesture not to force you.

·

While I am generally sour on Rolex over the buying experience, I will say it is nice to see someone getting the watch they truly love without having to resort to the scalpers market. Congrats, and enjoy!

·

Yeah I wish I had the terrible experience of having $9k and getting called by an AD to pick up my Rolex. That must really stink 🤣🤣🤣

·

Nice watch! It's a real shame what the Rolex purchasing process has become.

·

Nice watch!

I’d do the same. Just buy it because you love the watch. Don’t be put off by all the things around it.

My AD just emailed me today offering a DJ. Going to pick it up tomorrow. I have enjoyed the visits and talks with my AD so I expect tomorrow to be a pleasant visit.

One man’s ceiling is another man’s floor! There is always some person or situation in contrast that sucks big time for us but as I live in my back 9 think of the fellas whose ceiling is my floor, wish that life could be different!

·

What a beautiful pick up! Congrats. I would have done the same; paying $9k for a watch already worth more on the secondary market. It does give a nice reassurance.

This is the way a luxury brand should treat a customer making a Veblen purchase. It's become too silly now. I'd make the immediate purchase for your watch. Maybe I'd do it for the Green Bezel Submariner just to flip it. I've never flipped a watch before. Your watch I'd keep.

·

Congratulations on a beautiful watch! I hate the Rolex AD luxury brand Veblen purchase "Take it or leave it knowing you are off my list" mentality. Maybe flipping that piece will give you the lighting bolt of joy a new beautiful timepiece should. Why wear equity when you can reinvest profit? Unless you love the Hulk. If so, cheers and enjoy!

Postscript: I would do the exact same thing 😁

·

Love it…and now you get to make your own story with it!

·

Happy new watch day though know it’s time to make stores and memories with it

·

Well, that’s a beauty! You scored my friend!💯👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼I’m also happy to pay MSRP and wait it out for my new Rolex Sub! But I’ll be switched if I’m gonna pay 7 or 8 grand more on the gray market, just to have it right now.

·

Sorry, I just don’t get it. I always treat sales staff with the level of respect of which I deserve to be treated. I refuse to settle for anything less and on those rare occasions I haven’t received it I’ve had no problem saying “I am profit, you are overhead and you’d be wise to remember that” before walking out.

No purchase is worth selling out my dignity.

·

I was at an AD in Indianapolis and there was a couple there waiting to pick up a Rolex. They were given champagne and pastries while they waited. When you pay that much it should come with some level of memorable experience. But, I'd have probably done the same as you. Nice looking timepiece btw.

·

Congratulation on the purchase, only the product matter in the end.

·

My first two Rolexes they took me in a back lounge and popped a bottle of champagne while they sized it and did the paperwork, very cool... The 3rd one at another AD was just pay and size, nothing special...

It's about the dealer not Rolex, they don't control all that, either way that Sub you got is selling way over MSRP so you can't complain, plus it's a awesome watch that's very hard to get, congrats!

·

There there, we’re here to support you. 🙂

·

Congrats on that Rolex. Great watch. You should think about dropping that AD for another.

·

Meh. You’ve just made an easy 10k buying it at retail, so yes it feels like a gift to me. Great watch though.
