zenith revival A384A, bought last week.

I love watches, maybe too much, so I spent all my watch savings just 20 days into 2023 on that zenith el primero revival, I feel content and wouldn't say I have a problem because I'm responsible with my money, that being said I did buy some watches faster than anticipated, I consume and obsess over watch content.

Grand seiko quartz purchased November 2022

So I've decided to disconnect, not completely but I did unsubscribe from most watch YT channels and unfollowed almost all IG accounts, yet I will remain active here, Watchcrunch doesn't have the same advertisy effect all these other platforms do. And even though we're all enablers here for the most part, y'all can be good to keep people accountable as well.

Timex falcon eye, gifted Feb 2022

So I'm gonna do that "sell one to buy one" thing, if one is coming in another must come out self-imposed rule, it's going to be hard since I love each and every one of these pieces, but also there's nothing I want to buy (might swallow those words in a few months)

Brew retromatic, gifted June 2022

Or I can just live vicariously through @HotWatchChick69 's collection.

Which brings me to 2023 goals, less acquiring, and more interacting with people, maybe do some San Diego watchcrunch meetups who knows. And if someone has tips to just enjoying the hobby without the need to purchase another piece every other month I'm all ears.

Longines silver arrow, bought May 2022.

So yeah that's pretty much it, last but not least...

Cheers!

Thanks 🙌

Thank you. For me it's not just watches, during 2020 I went pretty hard down the literature rabbit hole, listened to all the books I missed out on before, SK, Game of thrones, all of them, before that was retro videogames, etc. I feel like most of us have addictive personalities or are "specialists" who obsess over hobbies, at least that's me.

·

Nice collection. Love that zenith and Longines especially. I’m in a similar boat. Bought a BBPro and Santos within 2 weeks so I’m all done for 2023..

·

I've reached that point to an extent. Got my compass pointed straight at the Speedy, but that road is LOOOONNNGGGG in my situation.

I have 6 watches I love and the others for funsies. I'm hoping some other projects & obsessions kind of intrude on the watch hobby a bit or are tangentially related, like building a new watchbox design or 2.

Yeah, having other hobbies is important, especially budget friendly ones, because our only hobby can't be buying jewelry 😂

That Zenith is top-notch! I tried it on and loved it, but wasn't a fan of the ladder bracelet. More so style than comfort.

In terms of how to enjoy the hobby, I believe it can be best done vicariously through others. Additionally, I try to photograph my watches, even though I am not very good at it. Keeps me busy though!

Habring2 is just amazing.

dont see it often. But everytime it comes up I get a weird itch.

Thanks! I love the bracelet, but I admit it's not everyone style and I understand why some people dislike it.

I'm going to live vicariously through others for sure and try focusing on other hobbies. Right now I'm painting a dial, we'll see how that goes XD

Goes without saying but the zenith is incredible. Not sure how I've not noticed the longines silver arrow before as it looks stunning ! Looks like it should be a lot more expensive, suspect it's a lower movement but I'm really tempted by it

Thanks!

The silver arrow is relatively more "boring" than the other releases thay came out around the same time (sector dial, etc.) So it went a bit unnoticed, has the same movement as the others the L888. ETA based, anti-magnetic, 72h power reserve, all the good stuff, it just doesn't look "exciting" but thats why I like it, you really have to pay close attention to the dial to notice all the little nuances and three-dimensionality of it, case and crystal are exquisitely constructed as well, the strap sucks though. Paid $1600 USD for it, pre-owned but without a single hairline scratch. I think around 1500 is a fair price, worth looking at in person if you ever get a chance.

Do what makes you happy🤤!

I find comfort in telling myself that I can always sell them.

So far I’ve sold 0 watches.

Beautiful zenith,  I need this one of my collection.

Your work is legendary, Victor!

Atraxa, Bonecrusher, Daretti, Chulane... so many bangers!

And I absolutely love Greasefang and Okiba Reckoner Raid from Kamigawa. Such a change in style, and super cool. Amazing work.

I'm so glad to see your incredible work has resulted in an incredible watch collection also! Some great choices, especially the Habring, which is a real stunner.

Thanks for everything!

I'm a huge fan of the Zenith! Truly wonderful addition to your collection.

The El Primo is well, Primo! It's a perfect design, I just love the angle on these cases!

The A384 was an obsession of mine for years. Finally found a great deal on a barely used one and other than the watches my wife gave me, it made me think I could get rid of everything else…

It truly is an amazing watch for the money, which you can find cheaper on the used market, congrats on your new watch!

Thank you! It’s really a special thing—I love that Zenith kept it true to the original watch’s size and design, down to the bracelet. The design is unique but still understated and I quite like that most folks have no idea what it is. Congratulations on yours as well!
