Would you guys trade a Tudor Pelagos Blue 42 and Omega Speedmaster Racing for a Polar Explorer 2?

A lot of collectors are wishing to have these two in their collections, so I would say from an enthusiasts point of view no!

·

I would do the trade without hesitation

·

That's just daft 🤯🤣

·

I know I’m one of the few. But I find the Explorer 2 hideous.

Depends on which Ex2... the modern? No. A 16570? Yes.

To help fund towards a 16550? This is the correct answer

·

No way, two loveley watches

·

If speaking solely from a intent to own/wear then no. Pelagos and speedmaster are both super cool watches and I've never personally bonded with the explorer aesthetically

·

You have 2 great watches, one of which is one of the most iconic objects ever made. The explorer 2 is a hell of a watch as well and a great knock about tool watch. Ditch the bracet on it and get a NATO on. But i would not trade the Seamater. Tudor yip

I don't find it hideous, but in terms of rugged outdoor watches, I think there are many far better looking alternatives, I was looking at one for a while, and then I looked at the Smiths Carribbean and Commander, fell in love with those, then the Laco Atacama UTC, theres just so many better watches for less moneu

I bought a BBPro which most people said is based on the old explorer 2.

I just find tudors interpretation better in every single way.

I love Tudor as a rule, their designs are so clean yet timeless

·

Explorer 2 is very nice and all, but in my eyes it's no better than either of those two.

·

Which Explorer 2?

·

Would you be able to post a picture of your 2 watches? With the info that I have I would trade it in for the explorer 2. Is it the polar dial? Would you be able to get at retail?

·

Yes 👍

·

Which version of Explorer II? I'd say maybe but leaning to yes

·

I wouldn't trade my Pelagos for anything!

·

100% It’s a decent deal financially and I love the Explorer 2

·

I had to really think about this for a while. I think yes I would make the trade.

·

Would you? Is the real question.

·

I would. Not into Tudor or that Speedmaster and absolutely love the Explorer II

I don’t find it hideous, but I don’t really care for it. Never understood the appeal. To each their own though.

·

Value wise, I think it’s a reasonable trade. You’ll get maybe £3k for a pelagos and £1.5-£2k for the speedy. The Rolex is going to be at least £6-7k

·

I would NEVER make that trade. But you do you!
