I am legitimately jealous right now!!! I remember going to the OMEGA store in South Coast Plaza Mall when they first released this model... only to be asked "have you stablished a relationship with the store before?" As soon as I said "no," the store rep told me "they are all sold out." 🤯 Got my name on the list, and to this day no call... 😭

Thankfully the only expensive watch I want is "only" ten grand. I can't believe I just wrote that......... I'm 100% safe. I find the idea of begging for permission to spend money positively surreal. You can't spend your money here, You have not spent enough money here! Dali would be going, "what?"

Some dealer's POV is if the watch trades for $7000 above retail they are literally giving you $7000 free so they are going to make sure they can give it to their most profitable clients. So now you're competing with their most established, highest spenders as well as all the other folks just walking in to try their luck. Just being willing or able to buy the watch at retail isn't enough.
Another way to look at this is the watch is $17,000 and you're asking for a discount to $10,000 so that's where the begging comes in. Because it's available at $17,000 whenever you want but it's not available at $10,000.
