I agree, see a lot of people claiming to be into horology. However they exclusively talk about casio and seiko. I just think it's a lack of education on exactly what horology is. Must just be getting it confused as a word for being a watch enthusiast.
It all comes down to whether you value history and heritage. I personally enjoy owning a watch that has an illustrious past, knowing that there's a line of respect that has been passed down. Sure value for money has to be considered, I often think about this more with the $3000+ pieces with the Chinese homages, however with Seikos, Tissots etc. I much prefer the original. Even if the quality is a little less.
Jomashop are great. Sharpest prices on the market. I picked up a tissot from them a couple years back, shipped from US to UK in a couple weeks and safely arrived. You don't get official warranty with them, rather it's covered by Jomashop themselves.
Hi Ben! My suggestion is the citizen nh8350-08e.
Automatic miyota movement (same one featured in the DW if I'm not mistaken). Oh and around $100. Proper bargain
I seemingly don't get as attached to my watches as others do. The only ones that are special to me is the Tissot Day-Date and the Oris BC3. All the others are up for the chopping block.ย
