I think #GBW the Great British Watch Company might be to Bond's tastes as well. Fine craftsmanship, paired with a great story behind each bespoke piece.
Or possibly a Vertex. The "Dirty Dozen" military heritage of the company and the watches they now produce would appeal to his sense of style and sophistication I reckon. Again, I doubt if he would wear either watch when he was "at work"
Considering the Seiko "Willard" is a 50+ year old watch, there is every reason why it could be surpassed by a more recent upstart with better tech or a more refined movement. Even the reissue "Willards" - but that's not the reason you buy a "Willard" in the first place. You buy one for its story, its heritage, its look and its name. The fact that it functions as a dive watch is important, but not the primary draw, as there are much better divers out there. So what? Give me that Seiko all day, e'r day!
A great read! I'm pretty certain that Bond would not want to wear anything that was "issued" given his rebellious choice to carry a Beretta pistol, before being "issued" his Walther PPK. I think he would love the "exclusivity" of a Rolex, and purchase one for himself, but probably would also have a "tool" watch diver as well. Tudor black bay?
Basically, the UK Prime Minister is making headlines for "trying to be down with the kids" and has been photographed wearing a suit with a pair of Adidas Samba's. Now, because of this, they aren't cool and nobody wants to buy/wear them anymore.
Just thought I would take the opportunity to poke fun at him, as if he had done the same for XRAWatches. Truth is, he wouldn't be seen dead wearing one of mine. And I wouldnt want his patronage anyway..
XRAWatches hasn't earned any badges, yet.
