Are you waiting for the release of a watch you "Hope" will be made?

Are there models of watches you like that have yet to release a design that you will purchase? Fantasy designs are fun to think about BUT I am interested in predictions on watches you belive favorite brands will be releasing. I eagerly awaited Watches & Wonders to check out releases. Of course the anticipation doesn't hold a candel to that longing feeling to hear from my Rolex AD regarding my standing Submariner order... Is it me or has my AD retired? Ok, moving on. As of late I find myself waiting for watches I hope some of my favorite brands will release. I'd love to see a Snowflake Gen Two. Keep that iconic dial and build a better bracelet & clasp. Maybe 39 to 40mm? How about an Omega Aqua Terra in all the current colorways in Titanium? The big Omega Seamaster 75th Anniversary was kind of a dud IMO. The caseback on the 75th Anniversary pieces is way more interesting and attractive than the rest of the watch. Maybe a Pelegos 39mm in color dial variants: green, another blue, orange, yellow etc. ? How about all Rolex models in Titanium? These are examples of some of the watches I hope to see available (Let's exclude Rolex as ever being available) I'm interested to see what the WC community is waiting to be released.

Baltic MR01 in 38mm.

I would really like this watch with one small tweak...

... if GO could just lower the price to sub-$1k, I'd purchase that puppy immediately!

I already have my name down with my AD for a watch that doesn’t exist yet.

I'm there with you on the watch and price.

Rolex will never, one from Tudor would not feel correct so the watch that I would purchase is a faithful re issue of a triple calendar Moonphase watch from Omega perhaps 39mm case in steel

as well as one in gold. 1960s iterations were quite common but vintage sellers routinely had the dials redone to make the watches appear mint ruining the patina and the watches for collectors. One of my favourite brands, Breitling produced the Datora but I do not want a stop watch on my modern triple calendar watch. This is a watch that potentially could be a reality based on Omega’s sometime interest in launching watches from their past.

Do I just get the $189 Seestern and call it a day?

A grand seiko with the bracelet quality of Rolex or IWC and i’m in.

A stainless steel perpetual calendar chronograph from Patek.

·

A slimmer flyer GMT from Omega.

I was hoping they’d use the recent 75th anniversary to actually update the Seamaster line with new materials or slimmer cases but instead they just added a new dial and called it a day. The new Worldtimer is cool but way overpriced and I’m still waiting on a GMT from Omega that isn’t 17mm thick.

I too have been on a wait list for an Explorer II that will likely never come and I’ll either have to stop bitching and buy used/grey or just buy something else.

Wow! Seriously a knock off...oh I meant to say Homage. Yes 189 bucks well spent!

Absolutely spot on. Let's go Grand Seiko! You engineer the hell out of Spring Drive and Highbeat movements . How about some tapered well done bracelets with solid clasps?

·

Oh interesting thought! I say titanium everything! I love the idea of new snowflakes with better bracelets.

·

Pelagos FXD LHD, 39mm. (Take a 42 though) Blue or black.

Bring back the fixed bar MilSub. I'd never be able to get it since I don't AD dance, but maybe that would popularize fixed bars again, and bring back some lower tiered options.

Since American watchmaking is seeing the possible beginings of resurgence, bring back Elgin.

·

Oh baby, I’d love to have the seiko solar gmt movement in a skx013 case

·

White dial Sub…

·

A thin Omega Globemaster.

·

I’m waiting for the re-release of the discontinued Milgaus (blue dial), whenever that’ll be - then the joy of fighting everyone for it via a waitlist 😏🤙

You can indeed. And you can call that day the 15th. We don't need the day complication.

I've posted this on WC many times before, but since no one's built it yet, here we go again.

I would buy this watch. I think it would be possible to hit this price target. The watch would resemble an Arnie with no digital display. It would be a bit smaller and with good specs, a bi-directional bezel for timing things, and most important, a solar meca-quartz movement, all for $195. I've never heard of a watch having this movement, but there are many solars and meca-quartzes that are very affordable.

Thank you for correct usage of the English language, a rarity these days. I have a $25 knock-off of a Nomos. That's an accurate description of what it is, and that's what I call it. It is indeed a knock-off. There is no homage being shown because that word implies honor and respect.

Good rough test to see if something is true homage or not: Is $$$ being made? Then it's probably not true homage.

This 'sort of' already exists. Seiko is a luxury brand, as well as entry level and mid-tier. My new Seiko SUR517P1 was $160, which is an Ali Express price.

But this is just dancing around your answer. I would very much like to buy a $160 Rolex or a $99.95 Nomos!

This watch would sell a boatload of pieces! The Mad Watch Guy just did a review of a retro Seiko Quartz Chrono . This watch looked Battlestar Galactica not Arniesque. My point: the specs, fit and finish were all great. Seiko could build your design easily

"Seiko could build your design easily" First, could they? This seems to be such a no-brainer to me since the two universal never-ending complaints about quartz are the battery changes and the one-tick second hand, and a solar meca-quartz would solve both. Is there some really difficult physical obstacle here we don't know about?

Second, if even they could, would they? Who knows? Who can predict anything Seiko will or will not do? You might as well ask the wind why it blows.

Thank you, I will check out the Mad Watch Collector. I like his show. He really loves watches and is informative. He himself is genuinely funny. A lot of these shows try too hard to be funny.

Great points . The focus always seems strange to me. Seiko has an unlimited number of limited additions. I can never figure out if these limited pieces are a market test or a dream configuration from their design team. If they engineered their bracelets and clasps half as good as their watches they would be unstoppable.

I've been waiting for an Omega with Globemaster/Constellation pie pan dial, date, dauphine hands with decent lume (and lume on markers as well), interesting second hand (red tip, arrow tip, dot tip, different color, lightning bolt,....something), display back, and in a rugged, but classic case with a screw down crown and water resistance like the Aqua Terra.

....still waiting.

I finally bought an AT shades due to them ditching the teak dial on that model. That is as close as I've seen to my dream Omega to date.

·

I'm waiting for the Seiko Poque re-release but that will NOT be limited edition so it will hover near the $700-$1000 price range. It's inevitable that it will happen. Next year is the anniversary, of the 6139.... BRING OUT THE POGUES!!!! BRING OUT THE POGUES!!!!

Look at the omega 'great white' or the 2254 omega case/dial with a gmt and sword hands.

Yes, these are still around at reasonable prices. Just wish they would re-issue or update.

·

A homage of my dream watch, not just the desk diver re-issue.
