CrunchTrek - Week 2 - "Lost and Found"
Two concussive blasts rock the ship. The turbolift stops and the doors open. The lights in the corridor are flickering on and off and emergency forcefields are in place. Looks like there's only one way to go. Your team runs down the hallway and find some open hatches. Escape pods. Room for 2 in each so you separate into teams and jump in. You sit down and buckle up quickly as the hatch closes behind you. Destination unknown but anywhere is better than a starship about to explode. The cabin fully pressurizes and the pod undocks from the ship. You take a second to look at the blue Earth below, the other escape pods floating away, and hulls of 3 burning starships off in the distance. Then, your pod's engines kick in and you're pinned to the back of your seat. The pod tilts downward toward Earth and it starts entering the atmosphere. Orange blue plasma engulfs the pod. You feel some more blasts behind you, the last of which send your pod into a tailspin and you black out from the G-forces.
You and your crewmate wake up. The landing impact cracked open the escape pod. You get out of your seat, gather your equipment, head outside, and see lights off in the distance. Civilization.
You tap your comm badge and thankfully make contact with your crew. They're all unharmed from the crash landing but no where near your location. Every team will make their way into town to find help. You start walking and in a flash...
"So, it looks like you've made it onto Terra Firma relatively unscathed. I can't say the same for some of your compatriots. Guess you'll need to figure this one out on your own."
Angrily, you ask "Did you do all of this? All those people, gone, for what?"
"Me? I'm just a mere conduit for your Trek through the Crunch. The Crunch. I'll make you a deal. Complete the mission and you go home. I'll even give you a hand." With a snap from Q, you're now standing in the middle of town. Your Captain opens comms with the Team. You need to find the artifacts and get the crew back together to go home. Your tricorder readings show that the artifacts are located in town and your Science and Engineering officers have come up with a solution, but need help.
--------------------------------------------------------
Week 2 Challenge:
Captain and Pilot
You've landed in Geneva. One artifact is located here in town.
Captain - you need to go into the last watch store in the City and take a picture of watches, one made in Switzerland, one made in Germany, and one made in Japan. You will then take a picture create a receipt for purchases for those watches, with the invoice billed to Max@WatchCrunch. Embedded in the 3 watches are parts of 1 artifact. [Note: You need to take pictures of watches in a real brick and mortar store, not a fake or online one.]
Pilot - your job is to commandeer transportation to rescue your crew of 6. You will take a picture of your stealing a vehicle. Once inside the vehicle, post two pictures of directions from Geneva to Berlin, then from Geneva to Tokyo. [Note: Safety first. Don't really steal a vehicle and please don't do this while really driving. This is pretend.]
Security and Medical
You've landed in Berlin. You need to retrieve one of the artifacts and find a power source strong enough to activate the combined artifacts.
Security - the artifact is located in a town square by a fountain. You need to take a picture of you with at least 5 other people in the pictures. You will then need to then take a picture of you picking up the artifact at the fountain.
Medical - you need to sneak into a medical facility to pick up radioactive isotopes. It's what your Engineer needs so you don't question the medical rationale behind it. You need to take a picture of you wearing a medical uniform (white medical robe or scrubs, stethoscope, blood pressure cuff, and a stop watch).
Engineer and Science
Your pod landed very far from the other teams and luckily made it to Tokyo. You two have come up with the brilliant plan on how to activate the combined artifacts, and hopefully stop the Crunch.
Engineer - You need to set up 3 watches, each set to Geneva, Berlin, and Tokyo time. Then you will set up a workstation with enough tools to open up a watch caseback, as if you we're doing surgery on your watch.
Science - Weirdly, the pieces of your artifact are located inside a piece of sushi, a bowl of ramen, a Pokemon, and Mario from Super Mario. You need to take a picture, examining each one with a multimeter.
The Week 2 Challenge starts today, 4/29 around 5pm Pacific Standard Time (UTC 0:00 4/30) and ends 5/4 5pm PST (UTC 0:00 5/5). I suggest you complete this challenge as soon as possible, as there will be Flash Challenges during the week, which will result in eliminations. Good Luck and Live Long and Prosper.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember -
All pictures must include a watch or watches.
Time will be kept using UTC and my time zone, PST (Los Angeles time).
THIS WEEK, crew members can post their own photos as they're completed and will tag their Captain or First Officer. The Captain or First Officer will tag me once your full team has completed their pictures.
There will be only 1 winning team. No exceptions.
Q makes all rules, judgments, and final determinations. No exceptions. This is supposed to be fun.
-------------------------------
Rewards:
Tagging in @WatchCrunch as they will be creating a badge for the winning team. I will also add something special for the winners.

My Dutch Crunch bread looks a little like this, and I feel a little like this after eating it... 😂
INCOMING TRANSMISSION....
@SpecKTator
Crashed.... Isolated....
This is First Officer Engineer Epochal from the USS Novaform. Our crew has been separated, but thanks to our prototype Spring Drive propulsion core and it's ability to amplify our comms signals we have been able to stay in close communication. I am relaying our communications to you now. Our team crashed on a strange new world with limited data in our systems. We believe this planet is known as Terran, but the life forms here appear to call it "Earth". As per CrunchFleet protocols, we have ensured limited interaction with this planet's lifeforms while also doing our best to study and catalog their society. In another 100 years this planet may be a good candidate to join the Federation of Crunch.
....
ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE REPORT....
It appears that this planet tracks time in separate "zones", we have started to analyze their primitive time keeping devices and practices. So far they are very puzzling indeed:
@RelativeTime and I have also stumbled upon some strange artifacts in the immediate area of our crash site. It appears we have landed near a highly populated area known as "Tokyo". The readings are off the charts for these strange objects:
....
SECURITY AND MEDICAL REPORT....
Medical Officer @biglove and Head of Security @TimeOnTarget have landed approximately 9,000km away in a time zone population center called "Berlin". The inhabitants of this mysterious world appear to hae some primitive form of liquid energy source. They dispense it unsafely from a communal fountain. Our Security officer was able to covertly snap some holograms of several of these inhabitants at this energy dispensing fountain:
Meanwhile our Medical officer was able to locate some radioactive isotopes at a nearby facility where wounds are treated (it should be noted that the medical practices of this world seem very unethical and ineffective).
....
CAPTAIN AND PILOT REPORT...
Our Captain and Pilot managed to land outside another population center 1,000km away from "Berlin". Captain @Salty1 was able to locate some critical artifacts that somehow connect to all three of the locales that we have crashed on:
We've once again filled out the appropriate expense report and billed CrunchFleet command @Max:
Our Pilot @HelenWheels has earned their nickname and commandeered what the inhabitants of this plant call "a set of wheels". This primitive form of transport relies the energy source dispensed from a communal fountain discovered by our Security Office. A strange planet indeed.
END TRANSMISSION....
Done ✅ sorry for the misread Yesterday was a little hectic, however I got the engineer part done as well so we got double parts for a back up 😂
Keep posting pics of that Laco and I may just buy one by the end of Crunch Trek, hahahaha.
