Air king Date 1974

How should I look after my 1974 Air King Date. It is in unused condition, inherited from my Grandfather. I got it on the bracelet but put a strap on it to save scratches as bracelet is mint. Shoud I continue to use this as an everyday watch or wrap it up and forget about it. It had first ever service last year and runs perfectly, it it better to use or not use…?

USE IT!!!!! With bracelet too, watch is meant to be used (Unless, ofc you are meaning to sell it later on, but I doubt it?)

That is stunning.

·

You are right. It will be worn and loved. 😎

Hi you are right, it will never be sold so just needs to be used.

That is stunning.

Thank you so much. It is 34mm so a tad small for me, but very beautiful as you say 😎

·

Wear it with pride and remember your grandpa when you put it on! Looks great on the leather strap.

One note: don’t get it wet.

To honor your grandpa, wear it! Also regarding the size of it.... lol

lovely watch. daily it!

·

unused since 1974? It's time to put that watch to some use.

A wise man once said,

“not wearing your Rolex is like not sleeping with your girlfriend.. so as to keep her in better condition for the next guy!” 😂

Wear it, love it, enjoy it! Any scratches give it character!

·

Wear it daily with love and joy! Beautiful watch!

·

Congratulations wear it 👏

·

Wear it and enjoy it.

A stunning watch. Grandpa will be smiling somewhere as you honor him.

Daily wearer🫡

What he said! 👆🏼

Use

Always use.

Nothing you do to it a good repair can’t fix!

Unless you loose it!🥸

·

Might as well use it if there’s dents and scratches on it 🤷‍♂️ otherwise take it out on special occasions like family reunions

·

Love that linen dial! Keep wearing it if you enjoy doing so.

·

You are not going to live forever. Enjoy it! It’s a watch it’s meant to be worn. It’s like people who buy a classic car and leave it in the garage for 30 years if you’re not having fun with it why bother?

·

Wear and enjoy it. It's a beautiful watch

·

Do what you want with it. Use it and have nice memories of your grandfather or put it away and sell it on antiques road show and buy a Panerai Marina. 😆

·

Wear it. It’s a beautiful piece. Too good to sit in a vault. Smile and think of your grandfather whoever you put it on.

·

Wesr it! I assume itll be staying with you for ... a while, wear it as its meant to be worn.

·

Definitely lock it away and forget about it, also don’t eat carbs and color in the lines 🙃 Wear that thing daily with the bracelet. Heirloom pieces come with a special connection. They’re meant to be enjoyed. It also looks good on the strap though.

34mm is perfect for a vintage piece no matter the wrist imo! Wear it!

Wear it, if you scratch it in the future a Rolex service will remove the damage you might have caused. Here’s a picture of my wife’s 42 year old Rolex after a service.

Also when you look down at your watch to see the time you will remember happy times
