Opinions on Tudor Pepsi GMT

Hi everyone, I may have an opportunity to buy a Tudor Pepsi GMT in the GBP. 2500 - 2800 range. I've never owned a Tudor before so wanted to hear your guys opinion on the watch. Thank you.

I would try it in person before committing to a purchase. It's a thick and slabsided case at 14.5mm which has been a turn off for many since its release.

·

Good point. Thanks for the headsup. I've already tried and it fits my wrist well. Would you have any idea on how the movement is? I'm not super picky about the accuracy and I'm assuming it's in house caliber is more tha n up to the task

·

I bought a first generation BB GMT, knowing the date function was flawed but was repaired perfectly under warranty once the date broke completely. Timekeeping is very accurate with the in house movement. I am accustomed to and prefer more substantial watches so the slab sides that bother so many potential buyers is no concern for me.

·

I have a Black Bay Heritage and have the white dial GMT on my wish list. Some people complain about the size but I have a 7.5" wrist and no problems for me. Recommended.

·

I owned one but sold it as it felt too big on my 17cm wrist. Definitely try it on first

·

Tudor is great overall. However, the model you mentioned is very thick. I went to the AD to try it on, excited about the piece, yet the second it hit the wrist, I knew the piece was not for me. It is a shame because I had hoped it would be my travel watch.

If you tried it on, and like the size, then it’s a solid choice. The movement is within spec and you’re getting a durable watch.

Do you know what year is the watch? The 5yr warranty from Tudor should comfort you if there are any issues (depending on the year of warranty).

I have been thinking about this watch but I have too many Black Bays, if that is possible.

But it sounds like a good price and if in good condition, you should be happy with it.

Yes, it’s a bit thick. I had already though of getting a BB heritage 41mm when they came out in 2013,14. It does have the same design features but I guess it’s a bit thinner because of the ETA movement. I kind of bought the GMT without really considering the thickness. It was only after watching reviews and such did I consider it too thick and heavy, lol. I only wear with a strap now cause it’s so damn heavy with the bracelet.

I still really love it and wear it a lot. Other than the unpolished side between the lugs (Rolex is like that too) it looks and feels well finished. It’s COSC accurate, gains 2+ seconds currently, though the movement has been changed, the original completely crapped out on me and it jaded me for a bit on Tudor.

That's a good point since I'm preferring it with a strap

It’s thick, it’s heavy, and the bracelet is ass. Other than T-fit clasps, the older claps causes the two links connected to the clasp to not articulate causeing the clasp to extend an extra link on each side. I’ve owned probably 10 Tudors in my life. Even though it’s as thick the BBPro wore better than the GMT. Try it on, what I tell everyone is don’t rush through the hands on experience. If you want to try it on 30 times in an hour do it! Don’t make a hasty decision, you will always be able to find that watch 👍

·

It is very well built watch. If the thickness of 14mm isn’t a bother then you will love it. I chose Tudor BB Pro over Pepsi due to the design appeal.. and now considering the new Opaline dial.

·

Actually as I have said before.. for me it is one of my favority pieces. A terrific everyday tool watch along with the other Tudor in rotation the Pelagos. JMO

I had one for a while the quality is very very good it’s a nice enough watch to look directly down on but it’s really thick and slab sided and felt huge on my wrist due to the case shape not it’s size. It visually looks much thicker than almost any watch I’ve worn if you can get past the thickness it’s a high quality watch for sure. I’ve got an 8 inch wrist and I’m today wearing a 50mm tuna that’s 17mm thick and it doesn’t feel as big as the tudor

I have owned the Tudor / Pepsi GMT over two years. It's probably my favorite watch. Ideally, it would be 39mm. However, it still looks and feels great, even on my 6.7 inch wrist. My favorite feature of the watch is its legibility. As a pilot, we use GMT time for many things on a daily basis. This is the easiest watch to read, even when the hands are all stacked up. No other watch comes close in that regard, even the Tudor BB GMT Pro. Don't even think about wearing it without the bracelet. The pictures online look great with leather and NATO. However, it needs the bracelet to help balance the weight.

I love mine but read about the date wheel issue so held off until they supposedly had a fix in place and extended the warranty to 5 years. I am not sure if they retroactively extended the warranty to address this known issue (Razer in a different context did NOT) so I would double check.

Otherwise, if you are ok with the thickness (which I am and actually like a lot), it's a great watch.

·

got it almost 1 year now, 7 inch wrist, no problem, wears good and comfortable....I can recommand it

·

I’ve tried them on and love them. I have every intention of getting one next year. They are a bit thick and slabby but it looks great on my arm. I may be a bit thick and slabby myself.

·

I had it for about a 7/8 months. My grip was the weight and height of the watch. It was a tat too heavy as a daily. Tried to reduce the weight with a jubilee bracelet but due to the heavy ‘head’ it was lopsided and didn’t sit well. Saying all that… I do miss the piece and I’m thinking of adding it to my collection again. 🥹

Design wise: elegant and timeless, Wearing dimensions: Cinder block

·

I got mine on the strap in 2021. Movement’s completely fine and runs at +0 seconds/ day even 2 years later. A bit thick(about 15mm) on the wrist and a bit long lug to lug(50.4mm I think) but I prefer larger watches so it’s totally fine for me. Finishing and looks are really good. Would totally recommend it!

·

6.25in wrist here. It’s pretty neat! I like how it wears despite its size. Functionality wise, it’s a pretty good everyday choice and an all-round good traveller’s watch.

·

I recently saw this watch in the metal for the first time. The watch is even better looking in person. A very beautiful watch. I recommend trying the watch on. The watch may be beautiful but may not feel good on wrist
