Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’d much rather it didn’t have a date, but for me, 4.30 is better than 3 (only with a matching wheel 😂)
I actually like it better than a date at 3, although mainly on a black dial with a matching date wheel, I think it blends with the dial, it’s there when I’m looking for it otherwise I don’t really notice the date.

I think you may be confused with the new marinemaster with the textured dial, better movement and a fancier bracelet (that I don’t really like). This one retails for US$2800
the SPB453 is an update on the SPB143, with a black dial, date at 4:30 and an updated 6R55 movement.
It’s scheduled to come out in june and will cost US$1300
