Review enourmously disappointed

Disappointed at how this created scalpers staying overnight and how real watch enthusiast can’t get one. Still don’t understand why swatch group can’t make it online.

At the end of the day it’s a quartz swatch with omega design. Having played with microbrands Baltic, furla marri, kurono Tokyo. They were fair with online releases and secondary market were not over the top for real watches with reasonable automatic movement.

Overall looking at global queue in Australia, Asia and US. I am glad I made the choice of not going to my closest swatch after being disappointed multiple choice from blancpain swatch and omega swatch

It's a brilliant marketing vehicle for the Swatch Group but the Moon Swatches etc feels a bit gimmicky to me. No shade to fans or owners, but I'd rather spend my money on a Seiko.

Go watch @AndrewMorgan's latest video about the why's of it not being sold online (along with other cool tidbits).

Do I agree with the decision? No, but I do understand it.

·

It's about the advertising not the cheaply built Swatch. Hype is better than a full page add on Meta. Short supply is the feature not the bug like Pokemon.

·

It's not a limited edition, so it will be available over time.

I think even an online sale may not deter scalpers with bot programs. Just look at what happened with hyped-up shoes and concert tickets.

I understand, I disagree with them and think they're c**ts.

Absolutely should be online, the only winners otherwise are the scumbag flippers.

I want one, but won't pay over retail and would rather be kicked repeatedly in the crown jewels than go to cess pit London.

Contemptible marketing.🤯🤬

From several reports I've heard - the lines for this one at Australian Swatch Boutiques didn't have anywhere near the same amount of people compared to the original MoonSwatch release and the Blancpain x Swatch release.

What I hope this means is that people have woken up, knowing that if they don't get one today they will be able to get one soon... and that it's been a futile task for the flippers who put their ads up on eBay a week ago in the hope scalping their acquisition for $4500 😂😂😂

·

Plastic shite! Sorry none of them have tickled my fancy to be honest! And the price 🤣

Talks a lot of sense does @AndrewMorgan 👍🏼and loving the videos he does now, they seem to be more of him and less scripted for watchfinder, the banter, a little swearing and adult humour, keep up the good work 🙏🏼

This is me after my fizzy pop! Woo!

This is new for the enthusiast community for watches but of the norm for sneaker, comic book, and art enthusiasts. Complaining about it is like complaining ice is too cold. It’s the nature of planned scarcity and is planned by many manufacturers. It will keep happening especially with more and more conglomerate buy outs.

One of your best videos yet!

One of the definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results - I would extend this definition to this thread, by anticipating things would be different when we already know how the previous two collaborations had been at launch.

What did you expect, an online launch and watches for all? Here come the usual two months of:

  • shock and denial.

  • pain and guilt.

  • anger and bargaining.

  • depression.

  • the upward turn.

  • reconstruction and working through.

  • acceptance and hope.

and then we can move on to the next collaboration. I’m thinking Plastic ProPlof.

I find it hilarious that anyone selling a cheap watch over msrp is scum yet it’s fine for Rolex’s being sold over list are to be admired as wonderful business men. If people want to pay over the top for any “toy” that’s up to them and without them the scalpers wouldn’t exist. There must be demand so all swatch has done is make something people want

Welcome to the double-standard, but because the RRP is lower the anger is higher. This will all blow over by June.

I'm still holding out for the Watch of the Year x 35th Collaboration x We did it Again x Omega x Hodinkee x Swatch x Moon x Mars x Earth x Jupiter x Pluto isn't a planet x Snoopy x Ham (look it up) x JFK x NASA x Star Wars x Star Trek x Solar Edition x John Mayer x Ed Sheeran x Snoop Dog x Metallica x Celine Dion x Michael Jackson x Captain James T. Kirk Edition.

But that's me.

·

I forgot to add the x Martha Stewart....👀🤏🏻🤌🏻

To be honest I feel Baltic, kurono Tokyo and other brands that allow you to purchase over the internet limited stocks are more fair. As an average person how would I know how many snoopy are shipped in, 15? 40 and queues are round the block. To add in my experience in Hong Kong these stores don’t have new stocks daily. If I want a furlan marri I order it, it appears after 3-5 days. Baltic I am still waiting for my glacier. I watched Andrew Morgan’s video for hype created. But after selling all my omega swatches and blancpain swatch I am not falling for this hype again

·

Already seeing them seeing them sell on WUS for $700usd. Insane. These are for people who don't care about a real watch, similar to guys who buy a Rolex and never even set the time.

·

I hate scalpers. I am numb to omega swatch collaborations from rude swatch staff that evades eye contact just say we have nothing and don’t want to do business. I mean as a semi watch enthusiast I want to try it on the wrist this plastic watch. My Baltic and Pitzmann a Korean brand is so much more of a real watch

·

I mean, if it were online, it would probably be worse? You’re just seeing what those scalpers look like. The hype tends to die down after a while, so unless it’s LE, then all it takes is a bit of patience.

For the Scuba 50 Fathoms, at $400 it would have been appropriate to put in a 2824-2.

Yeah :/

It’s a shame that it’s been a runaway success. While the Moonswatch rubbed some watch guys the wrong way it wasn’t tooootally unreasonably priced imo. But $400 for a ticking contradiction and lesson in greenwashing… it would have been nice for the non-watch media to pick that up.

The Blancpain collab was not as successful as the Speedy, but in reality it was never going to be as there was no “baseline, OG” version in the lineup, and the brand and model is not as well-known outside of watch circles as the Speedy is. They corrected that later, with the “Moon” one, but it was an afterthought. It also suffered from being the second drop, so the hype was lower. I also think they look bad and wear terribly, because I have eyes and a watch-wearing wrist, but that’s by-the-by.
