If we keep im mind that this was discontinued in 2017 and existed in one way or another since the early 90s and was bought second hand. I would say that's the quintesensial field watch, small, quartz powered to keep time and with 100m water resistance for someone with small wrists or classic taste in watches.
The mechanical version is a bit overrated (and overprice in the second hand market) while nobody paid attention to the quartz which is more adequate to fulfill the duty of a field watch and also increase water resistance from 30m or 50m to 100m which means pool and wet environment friendly.
I'm thinking about getting one of these instead of the Aquastar Model 60, because of it reminds me of grandfather's Elgin Sportsman but instead made with modern technology. But also looking at a rectangular watch by Peugeot because I love the 1940s/1950s look of it.
Unfortunately this model the H68311633 was discontinued in 2017, there were produced in one way or other since the early 90s.
In this case is the women's model which is 33mm and there where versions in either quartz and automatic
Well I don't have a big collection or an important collection like some you, but my other hobbies are reenactment (Roman from I A.D) and vintage clothing (but I consider it a style option more than a hobby) especially those inspired in the 1940s and also 1950s but for summer ensambles (mostly is business casual and sports casual from the era as I don't have a proper suit and lack spearpoint collar shirts). Here is some pictures from my last reenactment.
I just started taking this hobby seriously this year which means some equipment is lend like the armor and helmet, the clothing I made myself with help of someone who knows better than me how to sew, my goal is to have an accurate depiction of a legionary as this not fully correct like the cingulum, the armor (too long and big for me) and apparently I need a new pair or caligae or calcei to replace the old ones which have almost 100km with them
Unfortunately I don't don't have any photos of myself in vintage clothing, once I find one I will correct this comment.
The case in both watches are curved, as you can see. First one is Squale and the second one is Aquastar.
As you said Citizen also has one but limited to Japan, which means extra taxes and fees. The lug length of said watch is about 51mm so longer than both.
By that logic, Steinhart is also a homage brand as the majority of their dive watch catalogue are just Rolex Submariner or Explorer lookalikes.
The lug to lug length of the Aquastar, which is 47mm but due to the position of the lug holes is more like a 43mm, is not a problem as you can see. This is a Seestern homage from my friend and it doesn't fit all that bad
.I understand that Squale is a bit overprice, but which watch is not now days.
Now that you say it, why don't you propose a similar style watch.
