Forgot my watch

Good morning everyone!! I forgot my g shock this morning and now I am at work going crazy because it's not on my wrist. Has this happen to you guys too. I can't leave my house without one of my watches. Thoughts on this. Are we just crazy people😂? Let me know!

I knew a guy that kept a "beater" in his cube/desk drawer for this just so he wouldn't go crazy.

it may not be the watch you wanted to wear but for him it was better than nothing at all.

·

I have four watches in my desk drawer for such an occasion: three semi-reliable vintage and one good to go quartz. (Every once in a while a vintage watch chooses to be more selective about accuracy.)

·

Never! Do you forget to breathe NO! 😉 just kidding…

I do hate that when it happens you feel so naked…

Always can use another inexpensive G-shock

I can't deal without wearing a watch, even sleeping and showering!

But I'm sure I'm in the minority here

yeah it sucks

·

Nope. I sleep with a watch on. It just comes off for showers, to protect it from steam and to keep from removing the highly desirable cheese patina on the backside.

·

I usually keep a cheap spare watch in my computer bag for just such an occurrence. 😉

·

I've never let this happen.  I don't feel right leaving the house without a watch.

·

We are crazy, but that's besides the point because right now you have an emergency. Call 911, tell them you are a watch addict and you are going through extreme withdrawals at work.  Someone will be there within the hour to bring you a replacement for the day.  After the crisis is over, I think you can work on finding a good therapist.  lmao!!

·

I'd go home sick....

·

Yup! As a RN I feel naked without my G-Shock.

·

Yes...we are crazy. Mother...is that you??

That's precisely what I do.  I am even contemplating moving several of my watches there as I am running out of space at home anyway.

·

When this has happened, I've opened the clock in the Hodinkee app (it's like a digital perpetual calendar) and time.gov on my desktop....so yes, we are just crazy people, but enough crazies all in one place makes a club!

·

it happens to me once or twice. it is like leaving the house without clothes lol

I am nearly there...not showering, yet.

Wow, 4 watches in your desk at work!  So you have a collection at the office?  How many at home?  Way to be prepared (or to hide some extra purchases from your significant other). I'm so jealous.

Congrats. You finally gave me the one downside I truly feel about the shift to working from home.  Office collection.  It's genius.

Well you guys answered my question. We are all on the crazy train 😂😂😂😂😂. I wouldn't have it any other way!!!

I might have around 45 at home.

I'd wear mine to the shower, but even a Vostok can't take the 100 celcius of a sauna so I can't.

I do that, for that exact same reason

RN?  Thank you for what you do!

True service for your fellow man. Well done

Well when I used to go into an office it happened once or twice. I kept rubbing my wrist and also looking to check the time. Super annoying. Now I have a valet tray that has all of the things I need before I leave the house (wallet, keys, phone, watch, pocket knife, hank, and religious challenge coin). I choose a watch a week to wear (most of the time), and so it's sitting there waiting for me, so I don't forget it unless its on purpose (rarely). Funny thing is my dad sleeps in his watches. He quite literally doesn't want to take them off...ever. He keeps telling me to sleep in mine. Nope I'm good.😂

I know what you mean. I feel naked without a watch on my wrist …
