Help me: a stienhart dilema

I have a 7.5 inch wrist and need to know what is going to fit it does anyone with a similar sized wrist own a 42mm stienhart, and if so do you think it is a bit big?

I have a 6.3 inch wrist and rock a Steiny OVM. Some may say it’s too big, but I kinda don’t care anymore. 😂

It will fit just fine…I have, i think the same size wrist as you and my Oris is 43mm and fits ok…

How does that 43 mm Oris fit so well on your wrist? Lug-to-lug is 50 mm and one would think the dimensions would not fit on a 6.3 in wrist...but there must be some "hidden" dimensions that make this piece wearable.

Great looking piece.

·

I'd say a 42mm on a 7.5" wrist would be absolutely fine.

·

Steinhart are notorious for their long, very flat lugs with no downturn at all. This makes them wear a lot more awkwardly than most 42mm watches. It's such a shame because they make some beautiful stuff.

If your 7.5" wrist is fairly flat you should be ok.

I have a Ocean GMT Premium 39mm and while the watch in theory would look on the petite side, due to the lug design it actually wears larger. Not to mention that the springbars are at the very end of the long lugs and seeing as I prefer it on a strap I had to use the endlinks from the bracelet to make it work for me:

I've tried the 42mm titanium version of this watch and while I regularly wear a 44mm Oris, the steinhart with its long, flat lug design wore larger and less comfortably.

Hope that helps.

I have 7.5" wrists. I find 42-44 to be ideal, but you also have to consider lug to lug.

This is off topic, but since the interest in watches is bigger than ever, there is a doctor where I live who actually is doing wrist implants to make the wrist larger and in some case a form of liposuction to make the wrist smaller.  It is in the New York area if you are interested.  Not covered by insurance.

What you serious!! That’s nuts I guess there’s a market for anything smh…

·

yes I agree always try it on if possible and some AD‘s if you order online you have 15-30 days to return if it doesn’t fit.

Thats fine on your wrist........

·

You are losing this!!!

·

A lot depends on the feel of the watch.  A watch that wears you is fine if the occasion suits.  Pictured is my 42mm Swatch automatic.  for more formal usage, I suspect 39mm is my maximum.

Don't feel bad. When a hobby gets a hold of you, we can overthink it.  I will say this was the case with the Excel sheet.  lol.  We've all been there in one way or another.

I am also 71/2.  The 42mm Steinies wear great.  The female end links help with the lug to lug. This one is only 13mm thick so it sits well on the wrist too.

Objects in [camera wrist shots] appear bigger than real life.  At least that is what it seems.  When I look down at my wrist, anything smaller than a big 40 mm looks small but when I take a wrist shot, even the 40mm watches look big on my wrist.

Does TV make me look fatter or is that just how fat I am?

Wow, what a great looking watch.  I haven't seen that one yet.  Now I'm off to the Steinhart site to check them out.

·

The lugs on steins r too straight, on a 39 they dont look that prominent. A 42 would definitely suit you, but with those lugs the whole watch will start to look off to you in a couple of weeks.

·

I have 39mm ocean steinhart. The lug to lug is very long and does not curve. I have a 7.5 wrist and I purposefully went with the 39mm because I feared the 42 was going to look too big.

There is definitely a distortion effect.  Wrist shots always look bigger to me as well.  This one was a Gnomon LE but Olko had some too but it looks like they are sold out too.  They do have a GMT version.

I’m confused.  Did that guy have his right arm enlarged or his left arm ensmalled?

I think he has been busy doing something that affects one's eyesight.

Ahhh, I see.  So he’s making fists to hide his hairy palms?

42mm Phantom Green GMT on my 6.25in wrist. It does look kind of overbearing on photo but looks fine in the flesh 😂

The most important dimension to determine whether a watch will fit your wrist is the lug to lug measurement

·

seems like you should be fine.  i wear a 39 explorer on my 6.5 and it’s great.  from what i’ve seen, their lug to lug measures are reasonable.  what’s this one measure?
