One thing you have to get right as a watch company is a good logo and a good name since they are usually found somewhere on the dial and you'll see them every time you check the time.
A few days ago i asked for the ugliest logos and stupid names, now it's the other way around.
So i ask you for your favorite logos and names!
The Longines logo and name is probably my favorite
I also love the controversial Orient logo even though i'm not the biggest fan of the name
I also love the Breitling logo, yes i have a thing for the winged logos or just more complex logos
But i also like it simple and i guess no one ever except me would put Sea-Gull in a list of favorite watch brand logos but i really like it, reminds me of some vintage american car brand logos 😅
Let's see your favorites!

Let's get this party started!
I think Omega takes this easily.
More seriously I like the PiageT logo. MontBlanc is nice too. Simple and bold.

Was going to say exactly this.
I'll jump in with this. CLASS!

i have to visit glashütte soon
so many great watchmakers there!
Hohnx - I imagine it is pronounced as the goose would say, and that always gives me great joy.
I also like Rolex, because of how it triggers others when you say or type it.
All of them are great logos I specifically like #orient logo because it hase that coat of arms type feel.
Here is a few of mine
Just cool. "The end" or "the ultimate"
One of the few brands named after a movement - lucky they didn't end up named "Labrador" 😂😂
I think you are a bit harsh on them. Can you explain what the seiko logo (or most of Watch brands logos) mean just by seeing it? You need to speak Japanese to understand that Seiko mean’s “exquisite”! They are a historical, well respected brand in the world of horology and I don’t really understand all the fuzz about their logo. Nothing against you, it’s a general comment.
It's not math with its harsh certainties. It's communication and semiotics, and is subject to human interpretation. Seiko is fortunate that, to a non native speaker, it has no significance and does not sound goofy. Orient does have a meaning, as does the graphic in the logo, and the two clash in direct opposition of meaning.
("Nothing against you" - sure likewise, just "chatting" 👍 )
Orient of course, the fact that the logo looks like a cigarette brand is just the icing on the cake for me
Their main focus is dive watches!
I’ve got to get one now 🤣🤣

No worries, we all need to grow up in here but who cares. I was thinking of getting one myself too 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think you value more the logo compared to the brand Orient has established and these are two different things!

You're absolutely correct, I do (I did mention it 🙂).
If they were a new kid on the block they'd give off the same vibe as those Alix brands with fake Euro names. Like "Lobinni Interlaken". Japan has a rich culture of aesthetics and visual communication. It's a pity they used such a goofy logo.
Mine is a redial but I do love the old font and that rose logo.

Meanwhile, Orient has built its reputation and overall brand using amongst others this logo since mid 60’s. The reason their logo was inspired by the European style coat of arms is not known. Maybe at the time they wanted to show they were an international brand and thought it was best using known European symbols to attract their non-Japanese customers. Let’s not forget that the Japanese industry was been rebuilt so it couldn’t be using introvert methods of marketing. Different times, different ball game! I agree it would have looked more original now if they had been aspired by the Japanese coat of arms known as Kamon but by all means I wouldn’t call their logo goofy or compare them with Ali Express watch brands. How people translate visual identify and branding through the decades differs massively! Have a look at all the European brands who tried to adopt the American symbols and marketing tactics after WW2. There’s no harm in borrowing elements from others as long as your ethos and reputation as an organisation is of high standards and your services and the quality of your product focuses on serving the customer in the best possible way! You have to admit they did well overall as a company despite how you or me fancy their logo. And this is the epitome of branding
Gorilla Watches, pure rock&roll and gas fumes.
My top choices have all been listed but I think the Weiss logo is fun

Shturmanskije (Штурманские, literally “Navigator’s”)
Raketa (Ракета, literally “Rocket”)
Vostok (Восток, literally “East”)
Slava (Слава, literally “Glory”)
And one I think shouldn’t change just bc I think it’s so funny
Glashütte and the old Tudor Rose!
