First watch for a young girl?
Hi watchers, I will be godfather of my niece at her communion; she is 11 yrs old and I would like to gift her her first wrist watch, likely a quartz but something that growing up she could treasure and wear comfortably.
Ofc at 11 I expect her tastes to evolve quite rapidly so I am not looking for a Disney-themed Swatch so to speak. I am rather looking for something that will stand the test of time.
What would you crunchers suggest?

I know these would probably be the standard suggestions. The Flik Flaks are a bit more kid themed I guess, but I think the Blok watches are actually pretty cool.

I’m looking at around 200/300 euros/dollars but not really bounded either higher or lower.
I just got my 9 year old a blok watch to add to her baby-g. Both are great.
A Swatch for sure. Something girly but that also says mature and classy!
Baby G in pink or a pastel shade, more than a Swatch now I think of it!
my daughter has a baby g (Sailor Moon whatever that is) and now wants to get something vintage...I think the baby g was a good lead in and the colors are just fun...maybe something in her favorite color?

As a former 11yr old girl, all I wanted in life was a g-shock. I begged for one for Christmas. We don't know if you're neice is more sporty or if she's more girly. If she's more sporty, go with some casi-oak. I own this one and love it. I got my (adult) daughter a different Casi-Oak as her first watch
If you're neice is more indoors, any nice three hander with a white dial would be perfect. Seiko, Casio, Timex all have inexpensive options in stock

In all seriousness there are a couple FlikFlaks I would wear in an adult size.
I would take her to a store with lots of Timex and/or Casio models to choose from and let her pick her favorite (within whatever budget you may set.
Unfortunately, the Apple watch will become dumpster-fodder in five years. Most kids under 17 can't tell time looking at a three hand dial... My suggestion would be a discrete (small) Baby G-Shock (w/three hands.) BUT the Apple watch would be the bomb and Uncle will be the BEST UNCLE EVER...!

I thought about getting one for my younger cousin but it was too expensive for me. It would be nice if they offered right-handed versions.
They put the crown in the opposite side to prevent it from poking the back of the kids hand. They are quartz, no need for winding.
Get a pink F 91 W you can't go wrong or her favourite colour one Casio do loads of colours in that range .
