Ever since I got my "accomplishment" timepiece I've always washed whatever watch I was wearing on the day on a daily basis... how often do you guys wash your timepiece?
.
I'm currently interstate where there are beaches and especially due to the fact that I've been near salty waters I've been washing my Explorer II 226570 like no tomorrow ๐คฃ

I toss my GShock in the dishwasher every so often (seriously), but I don't really keep track.
Give it a try if you're looking for a deep clean ๐
Being pretty far in land here in TX, I haven't washed any timepieces yet outside of my G-shock GM5600. That's my pool watch & the complex I'm living at uses saltwater so it gets a good rinse when we get home. On a side note, that white dial is crazy bright. I don't see too many shots of it in direct sunlight. Looks super clean.

toothbrush and dish soap once a year
When it looks dirty. It gets rinsed every time I wash my hands.

Ya man! Takes the muddiest of G's and makes 'em shine!! ๐
Hmmโฆ. I never wash watches.
How did Andrew, formerly of Watch Finder, put it? If it smells like vinegar wash it with vigor.
I never wash mine. When I go look at watches I have the AD clean them.
Itโs good to wash them regularly even if itโs just a mindful rinse. Watchmakers have a term for the nasty detritus that builds up on the watches of those who donโt clean them - skin cheese. Some people Iโm curious how they donโt notice the lumps of skin cheese accumulating.
Every time I take a shower. Itโs a sub. Iโll also pop off the bezel and clean under it every few months if itโs getting tight. I wear it pretty hard so itโs often sweaty & dirty. Some of that gets under the bezel.

Thatโs probably not a good ideaโฆ. Maybe just wash soap and a sponge/toothbrush would be better. Near-boiling water probably is hard on the rubber/resin/whatever.
i wipe mine down with a microcloth
Often; if it's waterproof enough at the end of almost every day worn, at least in the summer. I have very active(?) skin and it sheds/leaves deposits all over leather especially but even bracelets. Smudges up display casebacks like crazy too

Reading words like โskin cheese lumpsโ and โnasty detritusโ makes me feel the urge to clean my watches just in case. ๐คข
Rinse sometimes, sometimes a few passes with with a wetwipe...
Ultrasonic cleaner.
One can get decent ultrasonic cleaners that are reasonably priced on AliExpress.
You may need a few cycles with and without soap, as well as warm water at first followed by cold water rinses.
This is what 25 years of wearing a watch with a bracelet looks like in a ultrasonic cleaner:
Yep, not to mention the gunk that sediments at the bottom.
This sort of stuff's on a scale. One thing doesn't make another normal.
Washing out a watch after you've actually had it in salt water is absolutely normal; recommended, even.
Washing a watch after you've been near a beach isn't really normal; it's not needed.
Washing your watch every day, regardless of where you've been or what you've done is... well, kind of neurotic.
That's about as simple as I can break it down.
Practically never. Once a year maybe.
That's the most gshock thing I've ever head ๐
My shock in the Dishwasher ๐คฃ
Badass!

Lol we Canadian's figure it out somehow ๐คฃ
Before getting into the hobby I neglected my Swatch bracelet for years. Took me 3 sessions to get rid of the gunk, in the last one I used warm water, dish detergent and a toothbrush. Shiny like new, but it's been a lesson I will not forget ๐
For my new watches, I check them for signs of dirt, and act accordingly.
Every day I quickly wipe the bezel and glass of the one I'm wearing, using a few drops of 50% rubbing alcohol and water sprayed on a soft microfibre cloth. It works well on fingerprints and small dirt.
absolutely love your accomplishment timepiece,,,,, its been, and will always be my favorite watch,,,, enjoy and wear it in good health

Oh, this Explorer II 226570 wasn't my "accomplishment" timepiece but thank you! ๐
That wears well on you! Whatโs your wrist size?
16cm ๐
You guys wash your watch? Just kidding. I wipe them down with a microfiber when they look dirty. Soap and water if it really needs it but Iโve found keeping up with the microfiber makes it so the watch rarely needs washed.

I hear you but especially after salt water day,,, I feel if you don't rinse/wash first and just use microfibre on it the watch would scratch...? ๐ค

I don't have to deal with salt water so I can't speak to that. If it's really dirty I could see the need to rinse before wiping. So far, I haven't had any issues with scratching, even on my fully polished watches.
