So I got my new seagull today and was searching for practical usesages ๐
I don't really need a stopwatch function... the watch is just so pretty and the story behind it so interesting... ๐ฅฐ I just couldn't resist getting myself one.
However... during cooking dinner it quite helped me keeping the time on all my different pots and pans on the stove while the cooking timer was busy keeping the oven in check ๐
I usually try and time things so that they finish round and about the same time ๐ warm food is the best food after all ... especially now where it is getting colder outside โ๏ธ

All the time! Especially when I'm making multiple things that require timers. Love having a chronograph while cooking.
The chronograph is useful for seeing how long it takes to buy another watch. ๐
Had my Seagull 1963 for about three years. I've yet to time anything with it. I don't think that's the point, really. They just look cool. Especially through the display caseback.
I bought this chrono because of Teddy Baldasarre youtube, stating a historical piece. Never wear, just sitting on my desk, movement facing up.
I canโt see the subdials anymore because of the cruel joke of aging. I have to relegate my chronograph use to a digital format if I want to see the dial without the aid of a pair of f***ing reading glasses.
I Use it when I'm cooking pasta to keep the time too
I use mine to time all sorts of stuff at work.
Hmm, if 'chronograph' also means GShocks definitely yes. Otherwise; i don t have a chronograph other than a GShock
I use the chronograph many times a day when wearing one
Chronographs are my favorite complication, and I end up using them for timing all sorts of different things. I really like the fact that they offer an opportunity to interact with the watch other than simply winding or setting the time.
I never use the Chrono to time anything. Ironically, today I decided to let the Chrono run just for the hell of it. According to this, itโs been running for approximately 5/6 hrs.
Wow, how practical. I time silly things like whether the stated wait time at a restaurant is accurate (cooking being beyond me), commercial breaks during college football games (they are longer now), the occasional fantasy 14 second rocket burn, and (secretly) how long my wife takes to get ready when we have to be somewhere by a certain time. All in all, my favorite complication.

One of the funniest exchanges ever about watches between Teddy and Kevin at the 7:55 mark in this review of the 1963
"I mean you've gotta budget for food"

Yes I use it for cooking. Especially handy for steak, fish or seafood where sub-minute timing can matter. For most cooking I find an elapsed time bezel more useful.
Of course, I find it essential to time things to 1/100th of a second accuracy on a daily basis ๐
Got one, but my partner kinda stole it and claimed it as hers. Most times she wears it without winding it just because it looks pretty ๐คทโโ ๏ธ(watches are a type of jewels aren't they)
Yep!! Timing races (original intention), timing my laps, timing my cooking and timing my lunch breaks at work
I use mine all the time for work purposes. I lead school tours for my musuem and monitor breaks as a lead for said musuem (we have issues with people taking way to long +20 minute breaks ๐). The former has sections where I let the kids self explore up to ten minutes so I need to keep the time because itโs important for us to finish on time. As to the later Iโm unfortunately a cop for my department keeping others in line since long breaks tend to disrupt our system. I feel bad but unfortunately me and the other floor leads/office staff agree that we canโt allow people to abuse our system. Iโve also used it for fun!
I am really not trying to rain on your parade, I have several, different ones, and a lot of them have reserve pointers, which for me is such a help and a no brainer, I love seeing when the watch needs to be wound rather than always guessing. Anyway congratulations on your sea gull they are great

Teddy Baldasare makes me want to jump out of my skin, sometimes he is very knowledgeable about watches I.am interested in, but with him attempting to sell at the same time makes it dreary, and Kevin O Leary,an insufferable buffoon. I dont think he really loves watches, I think he loves making money from his site. Watch TGV, Federico, most of the guys the hard sell is quite a bit softer. Who's my favorite? Anyone who is using the platform to share their love of the hobby and unless its a new watch thats really cool, is not using it as a selling forum

I like Britt Pearce, but she only like luxury watches. Watch this watch that talk abouy watches. Teddy cover a lot of watches from luxury to microbrand. Video quality is the best.
Oh yeah, I measured many things with my Seiko chronograph and digital Casios, sometimes using the timer countdowns function. Lunch breaks, cooking, the time for the covid test to be ready, even tried to measure the minutes between contractions when I was giving birth, but gave that one up shortly ๐
You could begin a study on bathroom breaks, to determine how much you're paid per hour to poop.

Never underestimate the power of potty breaks ... had my best solution ideas for problems there ๐
Yes. I also use the bezels on my dive watches.
I use alexa

ok I will check it out, I dont mean I dislike him, he is quite informative , sometimes he just gets a little too nerdy
Got mine today, never used the timer yet
Nahhh, I just like the looks of Chronographs. I don't really use the timers, only to "play" with 'em every now and again LOL!
As for Teddy, I don't mind him at all, it's The Time Teller that bugs the shit outa me ...
