graduating from university my SO got me a seagul 1968. and I hear you saying "oh that's not an expensive watch", well it very much is where I live given its almost 2~3 months salary. 😅
Personally a grail watch would be a watch I desire but I probably can't afford or aquire for relatively a long time (2 years+). For example the seiko persage was at starters a watch I extremely enjoyed and could barely afford, though with the current situation it was nigh unattainable for me. (For refrence the persage is roughly 24K here in egy with my yearly salary being is 60K post taxes and a maximum savings per year of 20K). Though luckily my brother gifted it to me on my BD, as he's an absloute mad lad.
My current grail watch is the Marathon MSAR
Well jewlery was never logical if we're being honest, its just our obsession over a certain way of looking which we pay top dollar for. I don't mind that idea, though it is worth pondering whether it has any semblance of rational. Currently most of my watches have been vintage/thrifted grabs from old markets, with only two exceptions being my SO & brothers gifts. Though I hope with time al be able to expand the collection.
I understand that but due to my financial situation and future economic state where I am. It ain't even remotely plausable to purchase a watch like that sadly 😅.
(For reference a "good salary" here in Egypt would be 3200usd/year)
