Spend my money!!($500) *updated

I've been looking for my mid-range statement piece for months now. I've been buying "affordable" watches($100-$300) for a while now and I am ready for a step up. Not a giant step, but it's a big one for me.

I'm looking to spend $500-$600 on a watch, but here are the necessary specs:

  • 36-40mm

  • Stainless steel/Bronze

  • Steel bracelet perferred

  • Swiss Quartz/(Any) Automatic

  • Blue/Green/White/Black/Salmon

  • Polish/Brushed finish

Here are my candidates so far...

Hamilton khaki field

Tissot PRX

Nodus Sector Sport

Nodus Sector GMT

Wise Adamascus (914L) Diver

Zelos Swordfish Ti Diver

Lorier Neptune

I know you all have some to add, so let me have it! This will be my last purchase for a while. Choose wisely...

Zelos gets my vote

·

That Lorier is the best looking IMHO. Dunno how it stacks up spec/quality wise though, but I love the retro diver looks of it 👍

·

I Don't think you can ever go wrong with a Hamilton Khaki, and I do love my Lorier Neptune a ton. But I think the biggest bang for your buck in terms of finishing, would probably come from the Wise or Zelos. Also depends on if you're into vintage-inspired or like a more modern look too.

Best of luck in the search! 🍻

·

Lorier, Tissot then Zelos for me. But it should speak to you, as it will be a partner of yours for some time, be it looks, tech or function. Ask yourself what do you really want.

·

My vote is for Hamilton Khaki Field, but all are beautiful watches

·

Zelos or Nodus first.

·

I have the Hammy, PRX Auto and the Nodus Sector Field and all are fantastic watches. The Hammy is the favorite in my collection so I'm going to skew towards that.

If I were to start all over, I might go with Lorier...but either the Falcon III or the upcoming Astra.

There are no losers here.👍

·

Would stick with Hamilton or Lorier 🤘⚡️

·

I'd choose the Hamilton for the classic design and the history behind the company.

Thank you for a well thought out post that invites discussion and not another banal "poll".

I just got a Hamilton KF, brushed bracelet mechanical 42mm and it's a fantastic watch. Tissot would be worth a look, too.

·

I absolutely love my Hamilton Khaki. Pictures do not do that watch justice. And it wears very well

·

If you are even remotely into vintage aesthetics, Lorier wins in this pool hands down. Also you should take a look at Wolbrook.

·

This might be just in budget

If not I would go with the wise or lorier

Nodus

·

My collection is similar in price range. My Nodus Sector Sport is likely my finest watch. I vote Nodus.

I have the khaki field in 38 on bracelet. It wears small and it’s feather weight light. The PRX wears large conversely. The 35mm wears better. I have a 6.65 inch wrist.

·

What about this one from Baltic? The Aquascaphe. In your price range this would be high on my list.

Hamilton Khaki Field on the steel bracelet

·

That lorier is beautiful! But….. the dial on the Zelos😍. Choices choices! Good luck🤝

·

I have the WISE on my list as I don't have any diver yet. But I’d say get what moves you the most

Hamilton Khaki Field on the steel bracelet

Agree Hamilton on the bracelet - I have one and it’s a keeper. Have or have had some of the others there and all good but the Hamilton is ahead for me.

Nice problem to have.

·

Hamilton all day...great entry point into swiss mechanical watches

·

Hello! If you want assessment and options of watches to buy: bo-Tello.es

·

Zelos or Hamilton FTW!

·

Looking at your design leanings and your specs, I would heartily recommend you check out Draken, Vaer, and Traska. You might find something you like in their respective collections. @marioap and @TheHoroSexual will surely agree with me re. Traska. 😉

·

Zelos

·

All great choices! Personally I like the Lorier Neptune and the Nodus Sector GMT. Just saw that now Nodus is releasing the GMT limited edition with a bronze bezel and crown.

Yes, the Traska is a great option as a true GADA watch. The Sandstone Summiteer is becoming my favorite watch, and I own an Explorer, so go figure. Right now I'm traveling with the Aviera but I'm already missing the Traska. Such a great charming little elegant fun tough watch!

I've been wearing the Hamilton Khaki for a few months now. Its fun changing its straps and bracelet.

I don't know if its a factor but the arabic numerals really help for a quick glance time check as compared to my other watches.

It does not have anti-reflective coating as seen. Most would put it in a negative light while some would say it adds some glossy flare.
