That is an impeccable collection. Your Rolexes are absolute classics and your tool watches are true tool watches.
As for whether you need a chronograph, my response is, do you want one? Me personally, I want to own a Speedy one day but that's because I want a Speedy, and not because I feel like my collection "needs a chronograph."
The GMT is about my limit, and I’m fortunate enough to own it already. I can’t justify (or afford) having more money in watches. But one day, way down the road, I would like to add one very traditional dress watch, like a Reverso.
Just because a watch can withstand water doesn’t mean you have to take it into the ocean. These things are expensive—far more expensive than when they first came out and were issued to militaries and the like. What’s the point of making yourself uncomfortable? Just wear a G-Shock or go watch-free for the moments you’re in the water.
I’d like a watch that can dress up because I’m in a suit most workdays. I need a date function and a GMT complication would be a nice bonus.
I was fortunate enough to get a Pepsi last year and it’s certainty on the list, but if price and availability are really no object…
Thanks! It was my first luxury watch, purchased more than a decade ago. The bracelet and clasp show a good amount of wear but the crystal and bezel are still looking as good as new. Cheers!
