In my opinion, Glidelock is a more precise system that allows you to get the perfect fit regardless of whether your wrist is expanding. Easy link is much more limited. Personally, I care less about the aesthetics and more about the fit.

The only Rolex with Easy link that I got a good fit is the GMT Pepsi on Jubilee and that is because the Jubilee links are more like half links and you can be more precise.

I ended up selling the TT Rootbeer as well as a Yachtmaster both because I could not get the correct fit. I will take Glidelock all day even with the thickness.

Side note. I think Tudor is on the right track with the T-Fit clasp. It could be slightly longer with a few more adjustments.

But the most important thing Rolex and Tudor could do is add a half link and it would solve a lot of fit problems. Why they don’t do this, I do not understand.

Just my opinions!

Your comments about the Rolex GMT Pepsi are the type of stuff that us watch nerds have to live with. I got the same watch (Rolex GMT Pepsi) and wore it for about 4 months before taking it off the wrist. Now, I have it in its original box and have not worn it for many months. I keep it because I know my feelings could easily change again and this is a terrible time to sell a piece like that, whether it is discontinued or not.

The more important reason not to move in from it is that we fall in and out of favor with different watches in our collections over time.

Look, I have recently purchased both the Tudor Pelagos FXD Black as well as the original Blue dialed Pelagos FXD watch. These 2 Tudors have been on my wrist since October with 3 watches from the crown not getting any wrist time.

The key is to buy the watches that you want and are able to afford. The infatuation period will wear off with any watch over time. The keepers are the ones that you always end up coming back to. Those are the watches that you end up missing and wanting back on the wrist. That is why the selling decisions are the most important .

Your Rolex GMT Pepsi is part of your watch journey and I hope you enjoy it and own it for many years. All hype aside, it is a wonderful watch.
