Not your favorite bang for buck timepiece

I’ve been debating on this watch since its release and after visiting the boutique 4 times to try it on over the last few months I pulled the trigger. Pound for pound there are many better spec watches at a $5600 MSRP but this purchase wasn’t to get the best bang for buck. It doesn’t come with a Breitling in-house movement but it opts for a really good, third party, reliable chronometer certified 42 hr office GMT movement. This timepiece spoke to me. Its case is extremely wearable at 40mm with length just over 47mm and thickness shy of 12mm. The watch design is so elegant and versatile specially on the bullet bracelet. I’d argue that the bracelet feels even more comfortable than some Rolex Jubille watches I’ve tried on. As someone who spends most of his time in suits, this fit my style so well. What are your thoughts on the GMT 40? Also if you can give my IG a follow @the.watch.lens

These things are very handsome.

Well done , I love this watch too. That bracelet is awesome looking. Looks like it will be really comfortable. 👍🔥

·

Congratulations to this stunning watch!

I think as a watch enthusiast the most important point is that you like the watch. "Pound for pound the best watch" is in my eyes only a excuse or an attempt to pretend that the choice is rational. But I think the watch enthusiasm shouldn't be rational. Watches should been picked by emotions.

Excellent purchase! I love the look of it, especially that bracelet and dial. Atom for atom, I'm not the best human being out there, but who cares? Value is just something for nerds. I salute you for going the unconventional route with a Breitling; it won't fail you.

·

Classy looking watch, that.

·

Congrats,

It's really a beautiful watch.

·

You’ve hit the mail on the head there cruncher, if the watch attracts you, regardless of brand or spec then why not!

I’m a Breitling fan so I’m in love with your watch already . I tried the bracelet on a chronomat and it’s a lovely wear ……… nice watch sir

·

I don’t know why, but I’m fascinated by that bracelet.

The Breitling Calibre 32 is in reality the ET 2893-2, which is a movement I have in a few of my watches. If regulated correctly this movement will be very accurate, very reliable, and shouldn't cost you the earth to get serviced in ten years or so. I always think in house calibers are a bit overrated, especially when companies like ETA and Sellita have been masters of their trade for so many years. As far as the watch is concerned, it's gorgeous, and that's from someone who doesn't normally like Breitling designs

This is a gorgeous design. Congratulations on an amazing watch!

I’m a huge fan of this watch. Let’s get real, the movement is better than most in-house movements and shouldn’t be looked down on for it.

The size is perfect, and the bracelet is unique. Obviously Breitling level of finishing is fantastic. Overall, amazing purchase and congratulations!!

·

Sometimes there’s a place to go for bang for buck, value pieces.

But sometimes a certain watch or brand just has “it” for you and nothing will replace that. Purchase well made in my opinion!

Well said. Thanks

Thank you. It was a late last year release by Breitling. I don’t think they did a great job marketing it.

Nice watch! That would be at home in a suit at the office, a night out, the golf course, etc. Classy, elegant, and rugged. Nice combo. I'll echo what others have said and also noticed straight away - that bracelet is the goods. I think your choice of where to buy it and why is smart money. Congrats.

Congrats on your pick up! I was just at my AD a couple days ago, and they were recommending these to me like crazy. Tried on this 40mm GMT in green, the chrono in 43, and a 3 hander. I was extremely surprised and have been thinking about it a lot since leaving. May be joining you in this club sometime soon lol wear it in good health man!
