What was your first watch as watch enthusiasts? Do you still have it, or did you sell it?

I’m sure this watch started it for a lot of folks. When I fell in love with it after seeing it on TV as a kid, I didnt even know it was an homage of a Submariner. Assumed it was Invicta’s design.

·

First watch that got me into watches was a timex expedition. first one that got me obsessed was a seiko SRPD

·

So first I bought an Apple Watch in 2020

Track sleep, work out, so on. Which got me use to having something on my wrist. Then I got These two together to see if I would like wearing Quartz watches

One is in Invicta that I just passed on to my brother to enjoy and one is a Biden watch. Both let me mess around with them in an affordable manner but after that I was hooked. I later found a watch that my wife gave to me 16 years ago I tucked away for 13 years 🤣

That one technically was my first watch given by me GF at the time now wife and I cherish it dearly!

My first watch was one of the resin Casio digitals in the early 1980s.

It probably decomposed.

I still have it

Both desintegrated into a busy childhood, but it either was early 90s Plastic Swatch Scuba or a resin Casio TV remote watch. Oh what fun they were

·

The first watch I bought with my own money many years ago after working for the first time. It was a Guess quartz two tone. A fashion watch in hindsight but I loved it and it was stolen unfortunately so no longer have it.

·

This was my first watch when starting to wear one again after many years not doing so:

Bought it at Jomashop (i. e. it is the US version) which means it took a while to be delivered to Germany.

Still have it, will probably never sell it.

·

This Protrek, I still have it but I wear it only occasionaly.

I had a few Timex Weekenders when I was younger that I still own but the watch that really jump started my love was my SKX007 which will never ever be sold.

Cartier Tank Francaise. Bought it over 20 years ago and still going strong.

·

I had a Timex (time only) on an elastic steel band in the 80's. The band broke and stopped wearing it. I think I still have the watch head in storage somewhere. You got me thinking of digging it out and get it to run again.

·

Seiko SKX007, still have it thought about getting rid of it but my fellow Crunchers convinced me otherwise 💪🏾.

·

My first watch was a Mido Multifort black with rubber strap automatic with open case back, I loved it and used it in high school and college, I ended up giving as a gift to my oldest nephew that is almost my brother as his first watch, I like to see it as my first inheritance, he knows how important it was for me and was a very emotional moment.

This is what started it for me when I was about 15. My grandfather gave me his old Lanco chronograph after he purchased a new Seiko chrono. Still have it, still wear it. Runs well with great patina & memories.

·

Timex Mechanical Camper watch. In the 80s it was about 25 bucks. Goes for way more on eBay now

Image
·

Seiko 5 - I got into the hobby right before my honeymoon a few years back and wanted something on my wrist to commemorate the trip

Image
·

How could I sell this :

Image
·

Sadly lost it (I was a kid)

My parents bought me this Bucherer in 1977. Still have it in the rotation
