Haha! Nah, its all you. It can take some time to contemplate change and to let go of things that no longer serve us. Watches are one of hobbies that can quickly turn into the saying, “too much of a good thing”. I’ll be ready to see you in your Cartier and speedo come summer time! 🩲 💪🏽

Man, so happy for you Ichi! I have been selling off my watches as well….sold 14 so far…..and still going.

I totally get it, I think about a month or so ago, I was trying on some of my watches and didn’t feel anything anymore for them.

It’s weird….like breaking up. 😂🤣

Yeah….2023 was a watch buying spree…..I want to be more intentional. So, any watch in what used to be 27 watch collection, doesn’t make me feel “wow,” is gone!

I’ll keep what I feel connected to, but I’m selling off and saving for something for my birthday. Something with real pedigree.

How about you? Are you done buying permanently? Or just for now?

Now all I need is for someone to give me a 10k watch shopping voucher and I'm set. This is what I'm currently at.

I’ve recently come to a similar conclusion. My 2 watch core “collection” is my Grand Seiko and Breguet! Won’t be buying anything new any time soon and will try to wear my other watches on occasion, but these 2 give me that special feeling.

It's interesting that you posted this because for the last few days I have been seriously considering going down to a primary, secondary, and beater watch collection. And I'm not positive that I have that primary watch in my collection yet so I have been scratching my brain on what to do....

Over the past few years, my collection has grown to 53 watches—an assortment that might seem modest to some yet overwhelming to others. Personally, I've come to realize that it's an excessive number, not just in terms of management but also in the neglect of certain pieces that deserve more wrist time.

Thinking about advice given to me by @cyclopseye last year, I've had an epiphany. He suggested on focusing and cultivating a profound connection with the watches I cherish most. I've prioritized wearing those more often while staying focused on purchasing only the ones I've have researched and am as sure as I can be that they will be part of my core collection.

This past weekend, I categorized my collection into distinct groups: Core, Gifted, Undecided, and Not Worn/Sell. Consequently, I've identified 12 pieces that no longer speak to me and I intend to part ways with them, and looking to streamline my collection even further.
