Question of the day

What‘s your favorite watch for vacation? What defines it? Should it be tough, sporty or maybe even dressy? Is waterresistancy relevant? Or maybe include a GMT/Worldtime complication? Is there such thing as a one-watch-travel-collection?

I generally like to have a dressy GADA/sports watch that would fit all occasions. In my collection, that's an omega AT or my MAEN GMT, mostly.

But just one watch? That's why God created watch rolls, after all 😁

·

I can’t go on vacation I spend all my time working to pay for my watch addiction haha if I did manage to get away on holiday it would take my Tudor Pelagos 42 in blue

·

If I had to take just one, it'd be my Aqua Terra. Tough enough for physical activity and water, pretty enough for nice meals in the evening, & innocuous enough to slip under a sleeve and go unnoticed when you don't want it to be. 🤔👍🏻

It has to be;

I always end up wearing my Khaki Field when I’m away on vacation. On the MN strap it’s light and comfortable to wear and I still feel like I have some quality on the wrist. Also, when I’m away, I don’t really want to be overly distracted by watches and I can easily wear this for a couple of weeks 👍

I’d bring three. I am too far down the rabbit hole to select only one watch for a vacation.

·

Omega Aqua Terra - it's just so versatile and stunning. Always a pleasure to wear, so wearing it in vacation makes perfect sense to maximize the experience.

·

Gotta have some WR for the swimming pools and be dressy enough for restaurants in the evening. Santos/Datejust combo for me and the SMP if I’m gonna be on the beach and sea.

Hence my 3 watch combo has left me without the desire to buy anything else (unless one of my ‘grails’ becomes available)

·

I have tried to take one watch on vacation usually a GMT.. I recently got a Casio Edifice with Bluetooth, world time and 100m water resistant. Looking forward to taking it on a vacation in 2024 to see if would be best as an all rounder.

I take around 12 with me. I have no idea how you can do less than at least 8.

All power to you though!

·

If it’s just a personal/family vacation without a formal event thrown in, then it’s Casio Royale and maybe Apple Watch if I’ll be in a new city and need lots of navigational help.

·

I Think for me it depends on where I'm going and doing, if I'm going camping or to the beach I'm going to want something tough and sporty like my gshock, visiting family etc I would go with something a tad dressier such as one of my seikos or Hamilton, i know there are many watches that fit the bill but I like having variety

Typically it's been my Timex Weekender.

Our vacations rarely see any formal gatherings.

Beach, lake, hiking, etc..

It's held up quite well for the past 8 years.

·

It depends where I go but I am thinking of getting a swatch-pay. A friend has it and it is very practical when we go to sketchy places.

Honestly probably the best travel watch.

I typically take my BB58 on vacation. Majority of time, I’m in the water. It stays on my wrist for swimming, biking, strolling on the beach.

Here's mine

Took my FXD to Europe over the summer. Great vacation watch, no fuss and looks great o the wrist! ☀️

On vacation now in NZ with my Casio World Time and my Timex Q GMT. They are cheap, comfortable, functional, and look good. The Casio for the rugged days, and the Timex for everything else.

Haven’t been on vacation per se in awhile, but many work trips have down time.

When I had a trip to San Francisco a few months back it was the Bambino for the office and the SRPD on rubber for driving the coast and sightseeing around town.

The Rolex Datejust that was handed done from my grandfather, as he has passed on now, and I always carry a small peice of his legacy with me to continue his adventure.

·

GMT with 100m+ water resistance. If I’m going to Hawaii or the likes, then a diver

·

I don't know, but it qas this one this summer:

Already for years the one vacation watch is my 11 year old Casio Edifice Multiband 6. Comfortable, resistant enough and always perfectly on time

Image
·

My custom modified CasiOak in Tiffany blue dial - with world time and any major city time on your wrist while you still have home city time is a must have feature for a travel watch

Image
·

A diver any one of my collection will do, they go anywhere and look good with any attire👍🏻

·

Perfect watch for a winter holiday. 🥶

Well, I'd probably say my Citizen Avion Promaster Eco-Drive with perpetual calendar and 26 time zones. It's got a cool function that if you pull the crown out to the first click and turn the second hand to the time zone you're in, it'll reset automatically to it.

The perfect vacation watch is the Seamaster 300. Beach or black tie it can do it all. Jump hour, crazy accurate, tough, low key and a good power reserve… because you are on vacation and some days you should leave your watch in the hotel safe.

·

I usually take a chrono, a dive, a dress and a GMT. Unless it's a short break then; abroad just a GMT or; local a GADA.

Robust, I don't need to set it, and pickpockets avert their eyes and weep.
