SOTC - Omega box (and one Islander)

Showing off my favorite box. I have another box with all my quartz pieces but these are the prized collection

So many beauties in just one box. Nicely done.

Gorgeous 😍👍🏻

·

Love those vintage Seamasters!

·

As a guy who does not yet own a luxury watch but is interested in the entire Omega Seamaster collection, why did you pick the Railmaster over the Aqua Terra?

·

Baller collection - well done! 🎯🤙❤️

I usually do not care for high polish finishes on my watches. The aqua terra was too flashy for me when I tried it out at the boutique. I prefer the brushed finish of the railmaster for every day wear. Seems more understated. I also like the blue denim dial and the fact that the watch has antimagnetic properties which makes it more unique.

Also this railmaster is likely going to be discontinued and I have kind of a theme in my box for discontinued watches lol

Thanks, I appreciate your insights. You’re right, there’s a lot of shiny surface on the Aqua Terra to scratch up. The newer Aqua Terra and the 300M also have the same antimagnetic properties.

I think the thing that gives me pause about the Railmaster is the color. I like the blue jean, but it’s not very versatile. Since it would be my first and only expensive watch, versatility is important to me. (I realize this is not a big factor when you have an entire box of Omegas!) I’m not as crazy about the black or silver Railmasters, but maybe I have to see them in person. Thoughts?

I have to say the only dial I like for the railmaster is this denim. I think it makes it the most versatile with casual wear. The railmaster is an acquired taste and not omega’s best watch. Watches are very personal, so I’d go with your gut and not try to force yourself to like a certain watch. Only buy what really speaks to you and what you think you’ll actually wear. For example, I wouldn’t personally own the Seamaster heritage 300 because of the fautina, but I do like the new 75th anniversary summer edition. There are a few aquaterras I could totally see myself wearing like the teak gray dial or the white teak dial with the orange seconds hand and golf strap.

I like both the denim Railmaster and several colorways of the Aqua Terra, which is why I wanted to know your reasons for picking one over the other. I also need to go to an Omega AD and handle these watches. Heck, I might end up getting a 300M. But I will definitely go with my gut when the time comes.

Speaking as an Omega fanboy, they really do give you the best quality watch for your money. Way better than the point headdress brand that’s for sure. Omega doesn’t rest on laurels.

·

Beautiful collection 👌🏼

·

That’s a great collection. I envy that you found what talks to you, Omega and went all in and made a collection of it. I’m so over the place and I can’t control it. 😂. Outstanding Cheers!

·

Oh my, Very Nice!

Great looking box. My personal favorite is the blue Seamaster.

That is on my list of crown jewels to collect at some point.

·

Schumacher 😍

·

Beautiful 👌😍

·

Holy guacamole, so many vintage Speedmasters. Not only that...you actually 3 colourways of the same model?

Stands on attention and salute my fellow watch nerd

I only paid $1200 for that one! it’s on my “never sell” list. Just had it serviced, unfortunately they removed the nice patina it had on the dial indices

·

Amazing! I had at one point a similar collection of Schumacher speedies. I loved the bracelet and hated the clasp. The tire case was cool too! Have you tried on the black and white racing dial Schumachers? The white ones have aged great with the orange, red, and lume changing over the years

I will hopefully own some of the other Schumacher's at some point, but I decided owning a bunch of similar speedmasters was limiting my collection haha

Totally. I got up to 12 before I decided it was becoming a problem haha but they're lovely, congrats

Very cool Collection. Are you going to replace the Islander with an Omega some day to complete the box/quest?

Always another omega on the horizon! Truthfully I’d like to downsize a few pieces first, including two or three from this box. I had another moonswatch but sold it, so I kind of had a full box at one point. This Islander probably won’t stay either

·

I have the sword hand electric blue and bond one. Contemplating getting the black dial and bezel one as a “beater” but the high finish on it id feel bad about nicking up.

·

Beautiful collection. Your not going to list each watch

Beautiful collection. Your not going to list each watch

First three are all Schumacher speed master reduced from 1996. Then the midsized Seamaster from the Pierce brosnen era. Then another midsized Seamaster with white gold bezel and sword hands. Final pace in the top row is the anniversary Seamaster GMT (my favorite.) bottom two start with moonswatches, then a speed master triple date with blue dial, then a modern Railmaster, vintage geneve and finally a Long Island salmon dial
