I like the engraving. If I had known my wife was going to put my initials on the back of my Lorier Neptune, I would have discouraged her. But I have a very stong connection to the Neptune, and I wonder how much of that connection is because it’s engraved.
For some watches, I find the perfect strap, and they live on that strap. For others, I change the strap almost every time I wear them. It just depends.
